It cannot be understated how darkly frigid this level feels without even using any of the traditional techniques used (looking at you vignette mask). Paired with an extremely fitting song and nearly note-for-note song representation in most sections, the relatively minimalistic execution works absolute wonders. The dream section feels a bit out of place initially but the level quickly regains its footing to finish phenomenally.
Surprisingly, I don't like this as much as everyone else does. Was surprised that it got 5/6 epic sends and a Viprin upload and then it just got featured so i was like ok i guess
I would like this level more if it weren't for the many small nitpicks I have with how it was polished. I guess me knowing how it was made tarnishes my view of this level quite a bit because I felt it was quite lazy and poorly made (balancing also being pretty wack, which I didn't realise until after it was rated)
A beautiful level that tells a story purely through simplistic symbolism in its decoration without relying on a major sense of progression. Lovers' Sadness feels almost historically archaic, having roughly similar vibes to Nilotic landscape drawings with the endscreen further cementing that connection.

You know what? I'm a big sucker for old videogame aesthetics, and this certainly hits the spot
