lowered my rating to a 5 bc i straight up do not get what makes this lvl 5th place worthy on this site, some parts are cool but i did not feel anything at all playing this. it didnt give me the same feel of "hype" like well rested or death moon for example. i just dont get it. i genuinely feel like im being gaslit

sooo i was like 12 years old when i saw this level for the first time, i was very very new to gd. i knew barely anything about it. i could barely beat the levels in gd lite bcuz i was so shit. i was scrolling thru youtube looking up gd levels (like a normal kid does i assume), and it was this video that was like "secret ways in gd levels" and i was like HMMMMMMMMM okay and then the drop of this level appeared and 12 year old was me was gagginggggg bitch. this is the VERY first level i have ever "loved" and made me realize creating in geometry dash is an art form!!! also the progression and song representation are stellar. easy 10

charmed life is a level i constantly think about. to be honest, it might just be because the song by dj sabrina is super super addicting and lowkey a vibe (I CAN'T STOP THINKING OF YOUUUUU YOU'RE ALWAYS ON MY MINDDD), but whatever!!! i think this lvl's biggest stand out is the fact that it's 14:30 minutes long, and during those 14 minutes pahc takes you on a journey. a beautiful, soulful, captivating journey, with an incredible song to accompany it. (seriously the song representation is SO good) one of the main issues people notice in this lvl is it's consistent repetition and simplicity, and i admit that some parts are a tad lengthy, but i never found that to be an issue. it's one of those levels where the atmosphere makes it feel like i'm really present in the moment, and honestly, i wish some parts were longer at times cuz they were such a vibe !!!!!!!!!! my favorite part is at 18% where the singer goes EVERYTHING YOU DO COMES BACK ON YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU. the vibrant, bright colors makes this part a stand-out compared to the other parts. despite this, i have 2 main issues with this level, the first is the transition to the crashing spaceship -> the ocean rock part, it feels very rough and i wish pahc could've taken more time to fully flesh out a transition, maybe something similar to the other spaceship part would've been cool? the 2nd is the ending, i get the idea of the parts consistently repeating, and i understand pahc did it for optimizing reasons so i can't really blame him for that, shitty game issues, but IDK something about it just.. doesn't feel right? however, i lowkey have no idea how i would've done better lmfao cuz my lazy ass would've ended the level right there FHDJSODFHGHDIFHGFJ so maybe it was for the best... (MAYBE YOUU WOULD RATHER CHOOSE NOT TO BELIEVE ITTTTTTTTT MAYBE YOU'LL JUST HIDE YOUR EYESSS). these issues are the reason why i'm giving it an 8, but all in all this is an amazing level with an incredible journey and a wonderful song!! okay because i'm obsessed with the song i'm gonna copy paste the lyrics sorry

grebeworld my beloved <3 i love this level so much, it's so memorable after 4-5 years and it has aged incredibly. the exploration in this level is unmatched. honestly kinda crazy how this open level idea is still very unexplored to this day, and even if it gets explored eventually i don't think it can beat the intricate, beautiful, yume nikki-esque designs this level has to offer. every single part is wonderful. with the several different parts you can explore, NOTHING feels out of place. pinnacle of creativity, easy 10

this is my first review on this site hooray woo!!! dream flower is a.... weird level. it was said to be knots and xender game's magnum opus when it was released, and i mean, at first glance i can definitely see why! the visuals in this level are insanely beautiful ESPECIALLY for a level released in fucking 2020 (like bitch what the fuck??? 2020??? 5 years ago????). there are a parts of the level where you can, quite literally, screenshot and turn them into your wallpaper because of how aesthetically pleasing they are. what i'm saying is, the visuals in this level are SO clean, they're masterfully made and i can tell knots and xender put so much effort into making dream flower, so im definitely giving both creators props for that! however, what i believe dream flower fails at is in it's messaging and cohesiveness. this level is NOT cohesive at all. the message, from what i can tell, is "dreams come true! believe in yourself!", buti believe the level fails at reaching its point across. the level plasters you with text that's like "DREAMS" "FREEDOM" "REACH THE SKY" and i mean, it works i guess? but it feels very corny and obnoxious, especially because both creators had to rely on text (also at like 17% theres a sign that says "ROAST DUCK" which is really funny) dreaming is a very "vague" concept in art, you can dream about, quite literally, anything! however, the majority of the level is about city landscapes?? with like, a bunch of random stuff in the middle? like im sorry but where did that whale come from fgdhsjksdjfhghjkdfhjkfjh ALSO IN THAT PART THE WHALE LIKE "DIES" (IT HAS AN X IN ITS EYE) AND THERE'S TEXT THAT SAYS "ESCAPE"???? LIKE IS THAT NOT LITERALLY CONTRADICTING THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE LEVEL HDISOIFGHDKKFJ yeah that kinda pisses me off!! there's like ONE part, at the drop, where you reach the sky and like, okay that's related to dreaming, you're liberating yourself. that's also the only memorable part in the entire level imo, it might be because it's the only part, in my eyes, that actually fits the theming the lvl had in mind, but other than that, the level just... doesn't do that. xender are knots are not bad storytellers (except when xender made white space lmfao), and i believe xender was super stressed about this level, and he like, "traced" art from various artists to make this (i might be wrong), and at some point recently he reached his lowest point and quit gd. i sympathize w xender in that regard, making levels is very difficult and with someone as popular as him, you wanna keep impressing the community with over-the-top levels. and this level is over-the-top! it's technically impressive! the kids LOVE this level! however, because of my overall feelings surrounding this level's theming, i'm giving this a 5 overall.
