This level had somehow slipped my mind somehow but having looked back on it this is genuinely one of my all time favorites, so many tearful and even gutting moments that I think a lot of people can relate or empathize with. I know I'm no stranger to the strange conversation, and have even had stranger ones, so this took me back to some times in my life that, while I'm happy to no longer be there, almost felt good to reflect on. The colors are perfect at conveying the emotion, the red pulses perfectly capturing the emotional hits we take in these uncomfortable situations. If you've ever felt misunderstood at home or by other big figures in your life, I think there's healing to be found for you here by exploring this level.
One of the first levels I really got attached to, largely at the time due to the song. But with that love for the song having simmered in and my now full appreciation for its simple yet compelling designs and structuring, it just feels so perfect.
Only the GOAT could make a joke level so persistently funny but also cool and memorable outside of its humor. Despite not being made in seriousness, the designs and effects of this level are done perfectly, that last wave in particular being so unique and cool even now.
This level is of course known for its vibrant and responsive rainbow robot section, but as much as I appreciate that, I appreciate the parts that almost feel more bare, as it feels like innocent and simple ideas are coming to life with the sole concern of exploring and experimenting. A 2.0 classic that champions the creative spirit a lot of us associate with that era.
No level will ever be this gay ever again. Goes hard whether you're looking at it now as this sappy romantic level, or whether you're like me and saw this in middle school back when you were still figuring out your queerness for the first time and even that simple quality of your romantic identity posed such exciting questions.
Exciting and high energy level that uses rainbow color exceedingly well against strong neutral colors like black and white.
I'm always a sucker for rainbow, but the way it's used more as a lining against white backgrounds is genius and so insanely pretty.
