Really cool story and amazing visuals, but this would be soooooooo much better as an auto level than an extreme demon with invisible gameplay. I haven't played this level yet (mainly because it's way out of my skill range), but I can't imagine it to be that fun when basically everything is invisible.

Orbdancer is my favorite platformer in GD, and the only one I truly love. I like a bunch of other platformers in this game, but what separates Orbdancer from the rest of the platformers I like is that Orbdancer feels like it's the closest platformer to the core aesthetics and values of GD. Having this level as a platformer honestly benefits it because of Thexxuser's color and expansive style. Discovering new areas in this platformer felt like walking through a dreamland, and it feels like an old Flash game or GD level. However, some of the gameplay and puzzles are a bit janky and annoying, and I got kinda bored after like 30 minutes of playing. I'm not a huge fan of platformer levels in GD, but if I were forced to complete one, this would be my first choice, and it's not even close.

This might honestly be the worst song I've ever heard in a GD level, and it's not even funny. The decoration and gameplay in GD GANGSTER RAP are fine, but any positives I might have with this level are overshadowed by just how horrible this song is; it's so bad it legitimately hurt my brain. The best verse I've heard was Colon's, but it's mid at best. The chorus is straight-up annoying and uninteresting, and I truly hope it dies out and doesn't become influential in the community. The beat is generic, and BoomKitty's verse is so bad. This is what white people think hip-hop is, and it almost feels ironic, especially with the name "gangster." I can't even take this song as a joke because joke songs are supposed to be funny, which this song isn't. If i wanted to hear a good joke song I'd listen to Yuno Miles (who is the greatest artist of all time (objectively)).

I know I haven't talked much about the gameplay or decoration at this level, but I can't focus on it when the song is so atrocious. Genuinely, BoomKitty should've just asked Yuno Miles to write and produce a song for this level, cause it would be infinitely better and funnier than whatever BoomKitty cooked here. I would give this level a zero, but honestly, this level has sorta inspired me to create a GD level again using a good rap song (mainly out of spite), so I'll give it a one, especially since I was so demotivated to even open GD before this level came out.

Before reading this review, I highly recommend playing this level if you have Geometry Dash. If you don't, ask a friend if they have it and play it on their device. You definitely won't regret it. I also deliberately wrote this review to be pretty vague if you don't know this level so if you want to understand this review you gotta play the level lmao

experiment is the most forward-thinking and unique level of 2.2, at least gameplay-wise. The way it uses triggers to create unique puzzles that you have to solve in order to progress to the level is absolutely amazing. I'm not gonna say this is how gameplay should be done in a geometry dash level, but it's a near-perfect example of what gameplay in 2.2 levels COULD be if creators weren't focused on spamming obstructive flashy effects, and instead focused on utilizing triggers to create memorable gameplay. The only reason this level isn't a ten is that the clues for the ship orb part were poorly placed, and the last part is not as good or memorable as the rest of the level. However, the way you have to complete the level at the end is absolutely genius.

I initially loved Commatose and thought it was the best of 2024, but now that I've had time to fully let this level sit in my head, it's not as good as I thought it was. It mainly comes down to the overuse of the jump indicators and some of the effects being way too flashy and obstructive to the gameplay. I also thought that the ending with all the orb spam and auto orbs was lame asf and should've been replaced with a wave part. Despite these flaws, I still really enjoy this level and its progression. This level is more like a 7.5, but I'm rounding it up because the part that comes immediately after the orb spam genuinely gave me goosebumps the first time I watched it, and was one of the most emotional parts I've seen in a GD level from that year.

The greatest level of 1.9 and one of the few good hell themed levels in the game. Has some of the most incredible and impressive designs and effects, and the progression and energy is absolutely phenomenal, cultivating into the liberating feeling of the ending.

This is the greatest level of 2.1 and the peak of the Neodesign era, pushing levels closer to the core aesthetic of GD while feeling fresh and unique. Every second of this level is used excellently, and none is wasted. All the designs are superb, from the leaves, waterfalls, and trees in the beginning, to the glowy space blocks in the middle, and the absolutely ethereal drop and change in aspect ratio.

A minor nitpick I have with this level is the dash orbs and ball part in the middle of the level, right before the drop. There are a lot of gravity switches and moving blocks in this part, and it's pretty confusing to see where the player will go. I would've appreciated if deffie had added some visible S blocks to make it easier to know where the dash orb ends. Nonetheless, the rest of the gameplay is phenomenal, well-balanced, and never feels dull, which is a feat difficult to achieve in most XL levels.

Overdefo truly peaked with this level, and while it's sad to see him be much more inactive after this level, at least he ended it with a bang. Had his levels not existed, I would have never begun creating in the first place, let alone staying in the GD community, and for that, I am forever grateful of WELL RESTED's existence.
