Insidee is the creator of one of my favorite recent levels, Lovers Sadness, and being completely honest i didnt really find myself interested in their previous levels, since from what i recalled they were mostly just their attempts at solidifying their footing, making themselves a space in the creating landscape so their really amazing stuff could shine through later. Feral would be the prime example of that, a level thats not really all that good or meaningful but very impressive and audience gathering. Before that however is kind of unexplored territorry with a lot of levels that are experimental, uncompromising, offputting. 1052 STEP definitely fits this category, being a 1.9 GDPS level without a specific goal in mind but more so a show of Insidees creative ability. Theres some beautiful color work in here, definitely the highlight of the whole level, very reminiscent of millepatte or durianhead but still with its own psychedelic effect exascerbated by the levels flashiness. Its very quick, it really reflects the anxious nature of the song. The UFO part is especially good at this hitting the tempo almost perfectly. The composition is also very unique showing the level more through short vignettes than free-flowing parts, somewhat like a montage.

I do find it a little hard to pinpoint why exactly Inside The Hell is a level i really like. It has a very natural and well flowing style of gameplay in some parts and yet other parts are extremely awkward and almost unbearable. The decoration is pretty solid and while minimalist it works well, however the level is also a huge mess, throwing in a bunch of samples from other levels and very strange almost obnoxious structuring decisions. And yet the synthesis of these factors surprisingly makes for a pretty engaging experience.
