It has been only 2 years since its release and i feel like Storm already reshaped the creating landscape of Geomtry Dash. This level is beautiful in a very classical way. Its a painting come to life. Theres a sense of grandeur here that many have tried to imitate but almost all of them failed to approach whats shown here, descending the mountain and being overwhelmed by this mass, a small speck in the landscape. Its something that levels have tried to do for a long time but it was never really possible until now. With the advent of 2.2 this should seemingly be far easier to execute but im still waiting for someone to respond with a level even half as impressive. Regardless Storm is not just about technical mastery its also about compositional brilliance. The fact this world feels so lived in, feels so huge is because of the composition, the little details peppered in throughout the foreground and background, the transitions that dont feel like straight or jagged cuts but feel like they blend the whole thing together, like you are seriously traveling from one point to the next and not being teleported on a whim. However theres also restraint in the composition (for the most part, there is actually one part in which an unnecessary amount of details is shoved in with a lot of it feeling very out of place), theres parts which couldve had more added to them but to reduce visual overload and make a focused experience those parts were kept a bit more bare. Id be amiss to not mention the art direction of course since its the culmination of skywalkers long creative journey. The animation is lively and beautiful, the colors are fantastic and on point in pretty much every part, it really is just a fantastic visual work.
