Whirl's style is not for me, sorry. It occupies a similar headspace to modernistic pastel corporate artstyles, and it also just doesn't work in this context because Providence is this insanely hyper detailed earth monster, so it creates a lot of clashing.
Still more fun than actually fighting Providence in Calamity tho
A very polarizing level. I can appreciate jank in GD levels, but Factory Realm X is mostly boring jank for a good portion of its runtime, only really reaching something of interest in parts such as the dual at the drop. That drop is pretty fucking funny tho. That can apply to almost every aspect of this level- sometimes it will pop out some really funny broken ass gameplay and decoration that's weirdly hype, and them follow up with the equivalent of a wet noodle. A real enigma.
I've always wondered what a continuation of this series looked like. Certainly not good, but I am very curious what was planned. This was a very unique approach to telling a story in multiple levels- an approach that immediately draw parallels to "cinematic universes" and the like. It certainly wouldn't have been good, but maybe some day someone could've made a banger video on why the levels sucked.
I would love to play this in its own separate game however. Brother needs to pick up game development if they're going to make cool stuff like this confined in the GD editor.
