This level marks the end of an era for messy amateur design styles from the likes of ozpectro, Xaro, meromelons, etc. ozpectro still had that magic for a few parts but overall this level is kind of like a gentrification of their style rather than anything that iterates on the style in the same way Fexty or landect do.
Still good tho
This is the only Crystal Gauntlet level that has aged decently well into the modern era, very funny since ChaSe in many ways was picking up the torch from Namtar in that aspect. A bit forgettable but definitely a landmark early 2.1 level.
homero, ¿vas a recoltalte?
I think Occult Outcry does one thing better than OG Curse Calling, that being the cohesiveness of the whole level being a lot better. However, I'm not a fan of the decoration style here- it reminds me of Stalemate Redux tier design deco and it gives me the ick. Still, I can commend this remake for being only marginally worse than its original.
This is pretty neat. I think the best parts about this level is how it's able to still be parsed under the strobe light effect as well as the smash cut back to the non-strobe part being really neat. -1 point for a bit of a corny ending tho, and I think it would've been nice to bring the gameplay under this harmful fold (maybe incorporate multi-clicks or spam elements in these harmful parts? maybe drag on the level longer?). I feel like as a result it is a bit underdeveloped.
