this level is fucking crazy i can't bring myself to hate it LOL. i also give special mention to some of the background effects- call be an old lady but that straight up looks like post processing how do you do that in the gd editor! it looks like fucking PODPALYASHIMSOLNCEM2. you can lump this in with levels like Reanimation where by all means it would be a level I hate but it's just too insane for me to dislike
very nice glowup. compared to bpi’s previous few levels, i really like how much less of a disconnect there is between the gameplay elements and the backgrounds, and it finally made me notice how well bpi’s style fits with gd’s preexisting artstyle. i still think there is much to go though- the gameplay is a complete afterthought which sucks a bit because i think that’s the missing piece that would sell me on this. i think if possible, a harder layout would bring this all together- think about stuff like IONIC’s cube and robot sections but under the more open-space fold that a lot of people love about this level, and i think it would make these levels a lot more immersive.
If you're not intimately familiar with a song and you still notice that the song rep is not fantastic is that valid or not. I don't really like how literally MaxxoRMeN took the theming of the song and translated to the level- it’s kind of like when you really like a song but you can’t really articulate what you like about it if that makes sense.
Otherwise this level is pretty good, I think the decoration looks very pretty and I admire being a bit uncompromising by just having one really long part in the middle, but idk I just don't feel very strongly about this one similar to how I didn't really latch onto CITYFADE that strongly. I'd definitely love to see perspectives from more die-hard fans of the song though
Very polarizing for me. I love the concept and how vast and grand this level feels, but the execution is just not there. A lot of the decoration is hit-or-miss, and everything is moving and too hard to follow. It frustrates me a lot since I think beneath a lot of its problems it's an awesome concept and I think it gets the song rep down, but it suffers from a lack of clarity. It reminds me a lot of that one part in Chasm by TheDevon where everything is moving around and shaking for some reason and it is impossible to follow and play.
