Cooled down on this a bit since. It's still pretty good; no time is wasted here and Zipixbox does a good job on iterating on the main theme and creating new intriguing setpieces. I'm just not really big on this level's use of 2.0 tilesets, 2.2 effects, its lack of color variety, and good color work. While there's a lot of details to distinguish between parts, there's also a lot that blends together in a way that many other "retro" style levels do and I think it really takes away from this being a truly great level. That being said, that lack of color variety makes it so that the striking red ending really pops, which I think is enough to sway me back on the positive side.

Really good work.

I’m usually not a fan of designing 1.9 styled levels through a more modern lens but I really love this. The color work is really on point here, and while I think the decoration could stand to have a bit more breathing room, especially in its faster parts, I still think it’s quite good.

a collection of pretty cool ideas that are explored just well enough. i feel like if any of them were explored more, they wouldn't work as well as they do. a lot of these ideas also remain in an unfinished or unpolished state, which strengthens the sandbox nature of this level

i think the main thing holding this level back is the fact that it's using the fucking idksterling song from yume nikki. it's pretty hard to take seriously as a result.

It’s very strange to see how well Woogi and Xaro’s styles mesh so well with one another, and I feel that for especially Woogi, it was very interesting how he incorporated a lot from Xaro’s style in his own gameplay and decoration. Sure, this level’s a bit all over the place, especially near the end, but it has a nice stylistic throughline that makes me enjoy it a lot more than I would initially think, and I can’t deny that I like its energy.
