This level fucking rocks. Strobe effect included. The first two thirds are legitimately a great representation of the song. The last third is abysmal though. But still. Hell yes to this level.

I should warn this level has very intense flashing lights for two parts so you know, play at your own risk.

This level gives a similar feeling to thinking about an animatic in my head so it probably makes sense that I really love this despite how much the decoration and camerawork peeve me at some points.

One detail that I think would’ve been so goated and this is like a minor nitpick but instead of the text at 70% satying “LERTS GO” it should’ve said “LET’S GO”. I think the insincerity of a phrase like that clashes a lot with the general mood at that point in the level.

Edit: Lowering this to a six for the same reason as commatose. See my thoughts on that level if you want to know more, but the tldr is that it makes a ton of mistakes but the emotional through-line is too good for me to hate.

I think this level does the Yume Nikki shtick better than Pink Nightmares but only by a little. I think this level being a lot shorter and less conventional kind of helps with that… but idk I don’t think you can really translate that magical feeling in this medium. GD levels just don’t give you enough time to take it all in and then reflect on what you’ve witnessed, all at your own pace.

Bordering on a 7. I’m absolutely in love with the way this level’s style gets developed through its runtime. Maybe a bit too visually consistent the whole way, but I love the motifs and designs in the earlier parts being remixed later on with new decorations interspersed. Other than that I think my other complaints lie in the pacing and polish- it’s a smidge too long and a smidge too unpolished at a few points in the first half. But when it gets rolling, oh my what a great level. I’m hoping more design creators take inspiration from this, it really taps into what GD’s editor excels at.

Decoration is sick, I especially love the first few parts. I think it kind of trails off by the end though. The gameplay also irks me a bit- it looks very off, is it just me or does it just look a bit weird and unfitting?
