It still confounds me how this level can look both incredibly polished and unreal but also incredibly chopped (which I do not mean as an insult) at the same time. One of the best remakes of a level ever made, there's such a good balance between taking what works in the original and supplanting it with more original ideas added into the mix.
It's so peak... The progression and decoration here is executed well but the main star of the show here is the gameplay. Incredibly creative use of 2-player controls in its "1 player sections", but I actually like the duals a lot more. When you're playing them you feel like two little guys doing parkour, like a dynamic duo.
The only reason that this isn't a ten is because I do not like the Headlock remix at all, the original song is a lot better, although I feel this level would be worse without this song specifically. Kind of a lose-lose scenario.
An absolute vibe. A bit off-kilter in style compared to neigefeu's other works but I appreciate this level's more colorful, minimalist style compared to RUST. The gameplay here is also a bop- I think my only complaint is with that ship section- it kinda looks and feels like shit.
A really awesome re-imagining of Nine Circles, expanding on the level's standout effect as well as adding a bunch of its own awesome ideas. Straddles the line perfectly between taking it self not too seriously but still commanding respect and attention. I think a bit of the tact falls off by the 4x speed section though, where the gameplay and visuals get a bit sloppier.
I won't lie this was not a fun level to beat, but this is the most technically proficient use of the 1.9 editor ever, and you have to put respect on its name. It's such a crazy level with so many fantastic ideas and moods it flawlessly conveys to the player. Definitely a GOAT contender for 1.9, although there are a few levels I think are more whole packages. Still, diabolical work; you wouldn't bat an eye if this was released today.
There is a sense of elegance and wonder to some parts of this level that I've only ever seen replicated in levels like Adrift or Forsaken Neon. What a gorgeous level, and while it tapers off a bit at the end, I think the rest of the level is incredible. Fantastic gimmick and decoration- we need more extreme demons like this.
This should be the standard for megacollabs. Such a cohesive work on so many levels, from the decoration and theming, to ESPECIALLY the gameplay, however each part still has opportunities to stand out with its own decoration and gameplay quirks, specifically how they choose the incorporate the heart motif in their designs. It's also such a cheery level that puts a smile on my face- it's not being a dead serious level, but it also isn't blowing off its greatness. Fantastic work to everyone who worked on this!
