Aside from Scrumpy's part this is probably one of the most visually consistent megacollabs ever made. If you removed any mention of the creators' names you could reasonably pass this off as a solo level and I wouldn't notice.
Yatagarasu starts off pretty good for a hell themed extreme. The intro is really mystifying, and it feels like the player is starting off in a disoriented manner. Viprin and Anubis really cook here in a way I don’t think I’ve seen in a hell megacollab ever before. It has contrast and interesting concepts, and it plays with the iconography in unique ways, helping to establish this hell theme on a larger, more ambitious scale, a scale no other teams have been able to accomplish before.
Sadly, it falls off back into old habits around meromelon's part, and the pretty great efforts from weo, Vermillion, and Hinds aren't enough to fully satisfy the other 3 minutes of mid decoration.
Pure, concentrated early 2.1, almost uncompromising in its design. There are still some parts that blow me away, such as the spider part before the drop. It's also a fusion between core and effect styles, which is kind of unheard of- you'd think that it would be disastrous since there would be so much detail, but it's surprisingly easy to follow.
Aside from old lady this is the only KrmaL level that I find funny today. One of the few good uses of “realistic” art in a Geometry Dash level, especially calling attention to how it contrasts with the game's artstyle. It's not just funny though, there is a good amount of thought put into the pacing and the designs outside of the titular Humphrey, and it results in a wide range of emotions- confusion, disgust, suspense, the works. Overall, really good job.
Absolute kino design level. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore.
