Hinds' best 2.0-styled level. It is shocking to think that this was made in early 2.0 with how much restraint and creativity is put on display here. Sure, the color work might not reach the same levels as Hinds' later work, but I really like the red and yellow style, it's a very uncommon color combo, especially since this level lacks a lot of orange that would bridge the two together.
This is a prime example for how during a major update, fools will be the ones who rush in with the new mechanics. Take some time and breathing room to get yourself antiquated with them. Hinds doesn't use moving parts a lot in this level, but every time they are used they're 90% better than what other people were using them for in early 2.0.
Hinds' best gameplay. A really unique concept and it's executed perfectly on all fronts.
Incredibly evil ending part but you can't deny otherwise how much joy radiates from this level. It feels almost innocent in a way, and despite how limiting the visuals may look, there still is a lot of really subtle color work being done to keep it lively. Fantastic work.
It's quite a shame that this is definitively considered the "Freedom Dive" level because I feel like this could've been so much more if it just wasn't as messy and didn't overstay its welcome, but you can't really do much about it now. The gameplay looks hype as hell tho, especially that second drop.
A very saucy level. This is probably the Nitrogen of 2.1- such vibrant deco. Only thing is that it isn't as fun as Nitrogen, but I think the gameplay is still pretty creative, especially in how Vlacc approaches his ship parts here. Also, what a banging title drop at the end.
