Probably the best Clutterfunk inspired level, strange considering most of those types of levels were in their heyday several updates ago.
It's hard to make core style "clean" the same way that MaJackO did in this level. Being able to give clarity to this style while still being able to provide very intricate detail is absurd. Absolute witchcraft.
I am holding out hope that Ggb0y reverts this level to its old version at some point, especially since the difficulty of this level is no longer needed to succeed as a level. All the changes here are for the worse- the two biggest culprits being the first ship being completely reworked for some reason, and the ending being just awful compared to the original.
A trend you'll see with Presta's levels (aside from UNDERWORLD) is that he has a fantastic understanding of the parts that surround a level's climax- there's a great amount of knowledge and skill demonstrated with how he builds tension when needed and connects one idea to the next and this level is exemplary in this regard. The predrop here is just magnificent- building up more and more clutter as the song ramps up, and it alone makes this level so great. This is one of the few levels I think the wider community has properly hyped up, even if the majority of it is in praise of its drop, which I don't find to be as well constructed as the parts before it.
It’s a bit sad that this is KrmaL’s final level, I hoped that he made something like another Lit Fuse or Black Blizzard as a sendoff. This is still really good- it has some of the best sync and gameplay of any level ever- but this level makes me feel really depressed about the current state of creating more than anything. It represents just how quickly great artists come and go from this game, and how much we really need them in this community to keep pushing the game in new awesome directions. But there's only so much a single person can do for the game though. It won't ever be enough. This level won't ever be enough.
This looks pretty good in still images and in its slow parts but is kind of a wash otherwise.
I never really got the hype for this level other than the fact that it was different from other Extreme Demons at the time. It does have some cool moments especially in the gameplay department and icon movement but I don’t really feel much about it compared to neigefeu’s other levels, which have much cooler concepts.
It does hurt a bit that the ceiling for megacollabs reaches here in terms of quality but LIMBO does the most it can possibly do given its scale- each part is distinct while congealing relatively well in whole. You do have some dud parts that drag this down, such as Lieb/th31 and Jeyzor's part, but I think this level's peaks make up for it; Flash/KrmaL and Mindcap/Crohn44 are stand-out highlights that are simply iconic. It really just comes down to memory- I don't really find it to be too engaging as a viewer, and my opinion only deteriorates when I have to play it. This level does avoid a lot of common pitfalls of the genre but you can only do so much with the concept that isn't just de-emphasizing the icon's movements or just simply splattering spontaneous bullshit on my screen and insisting that I care.
