world war by 2003 devin shows what i feel to be devin at his least creative and most predictable. world war feels absurdist in the way a literal baby views absurdism, that of which is of things being absurd with no greater form of composition. devin throughout his career has created levels in a similar vein to this one and i feel like world war is him truly giving up on deriving anything from the things he makes. theres disgusting faces thrown around for no rhyme or reason, in fact it feels like everything was thrown around with no rhyme or reason, except for sections that suddenly make sense. even in the sections that make sense it feels like devins just doing what hes always done and will always continue to do. every new devin level feels slightly more grey than the last as the magic that once made him interesting has been recycled into one of those $20 magic kits you get when your 7. each idea i see in world war is one that is recycled from a level of devins previous. i feel the level itself takes no stride to seperate itself from the level of before. overall devin is a fine creator who creates fine levels, and always has made levels that are just fine, i am tired of devin making fine levels.
