As the previous verifier of this level, I think I'm pretty qualified to review this.
Since knowing Iris, I was so mesmerized by their creating style. I would describe their style as using strange songs, building VERY interesting gameplay with it using some amazing structuring and focuses on syncing it perfectly. All of their levels are such a wonderful experience to play. Sloth is the peak of it.
When I played it for the first time, I wasn't like instantly hooked. Strange song, strange gameplay... I didnt know what to feel tbh. But after I started practicing it over and over, I grew to love this level. The way I would describe the gameplay is flow-based gameplay with a healthy sprinkling of memory. I say "healthy sprinkling" because if there was a bit more memory, it couldve become kinda annoying. Then, I HAVE to talk about the song (Sloth - mili). Its a weird one - I wouldnt say I like it. But strangely, in the context of this level - I really like it. Somehow, this level made me like a song that I didnt really love lol. But, I feel like theres no choice to not like the song in context of the level because of how GOOD the song rep is. Every click, every movement of the player is well thought out to fit with the song - its actually incredible. Then, the deco. The deco is mostly just the structures mixed with some very clean effects. But, honestly? I think thats enough. The structures adds a really ominous atmosphere and the subtle effects (like the low opacity lyrics in the bg) accentuates it more. The wave part before the last part of the level is a personal favourite of mine. Iris somehow made reverse gameplay tolerable??? INSANE. The wave was insanely satisfying to do and the fully dark structures with rune-like symbols appearing as you pass the part gives a eerie but a oddly serene vibe. Its VERY hard to express so I recommend you guys to play this level for yourself!
I was originally going to give a 8 but mannnn I HAVE to give it a 9. Its so well done. Also, PLEASE keep this creator in mind - theyll go on to make some incredible levels in the near future >:)
the level having bare gameplay and way too much detail is why i love it so much. its a near perfect parody about "realism" levels that take themselves too seriously. plus the ending was funny lol.
Novaach's style is unmatched. Mixed with inCREDIBLY fun gameplay, makes this one of the best levels in the game. (got ROBBED from an epic rating 😭)
Very sweet :3 The energy in this level is soo heartwarming! But, knowing the dark undertone - it makes me feel really weird. I was about to praise you for the subtle nod of Falling Up in the second part, but now I want to praise you even MORE for how well it fits with the theming. Interpreting Falling Up as "getting high with drugs" is incredibly genius, I TRULY congratulate you for that :)) The visuals depicts this theme SO well! like the "galactic shapes" within the sky background. Also, I would like to think that the dual depicts seeing yourself in a hallucination but that may be a stretch :P. Genuinely amazing work on this, and hope you're doing well now 🙏.
Such an interesting level. The use of shaders in this level to create atmosphere is impeccable! It's so well done. The song isn't usually the type of song I like, but used in this context - it works really well. Probably thanks to the perfect song representation!! It couldn't get better imo. Plus, love the subtle details like the small default cube jumping in sync with the lyrocs, and the "I am SGameT" sequence at the end. It's the gameplay that just doesn't excite me - it's just standard sync gameplay. I do respect the creator for making the gameplay simple in order for the player to synthesize the text in the level, but still it doesn't help the gameplay from being kinda bland :/. Overall, great level! Will definitely be looking forward to more levels from SGameT :))
there's no other gd level that feels like this, it's so atmospheric. I love it.
omg how have I not heard of this before, absolutely amazing
