100% raw & unfiltered slop. carefully crafted trash. so much stuff to look at and get inspiration from.
unlike most artsy trash though, wasteland doesnt make up behind fancy sentimentalism. it tells unfunny jokes, and sends you instagram reels. you still laugh because the lightheartedness is stronger.
those who want to get a real view of the world will need to get their shoes dirty
back when letters were made out of solid blocks, people still gathered in multitudes for the big event.
brazil worldcup was massively advanced in terms of interactive gameplay and use of triggers, even when there was little to no triggers at all. and apart from the tech merits, its creativity and unique structuring still stand out.
big stadiums, reflectors, spectators jumping from their seats. a whole scenery in place for the action. thanks to play
eccentric world building, admirable ideas. the mystery and suspiciousness are evident from the very beggining. and no hint is presented, as it always should be.
purple, hallucination, sand and snow are the four key elements for exploration of the irregular landscapes.
later parts would benefit from some less polishing so they dont borderline look like jonathangd work (not entirely negative). that is the only complaint
open the sketchbook and close the eyes. turn the page and travel a thousand miles away (approximately). now that the unknown cave has surrounded you completely, you've unlearned everything you knew. except for that one lullaby song. you can still hear it from far away. but what does far away mean when you dont know anything?
even though the evils of tierra sin vida (usually known as "titanomachina") prevented it to ever become one of the complete nacho21 maps, to this tuesday it still stands as one of the massive undefeated terrors, too intimidating and obscure for the big demon slayers. the complex gameplay craft sets it apart as one of the most forward thinking puzzle pieces to emerge from the shadows of level editor.
I remember at some point the map was put under a hell???themed decorative project. I am only able to assume that its evils also prevented it from completion because the high budget cinematic approach hugely missed the unusual nature of the source gameplay material
sometimes coins are hidden. sometimes a secret path is. they hide them for someone to find. up to version 2.207 a friend can't be hidden (as far as I know), but if you search well you might still be able to find something similar in this map.
sometimes a home is found in friend, even without a physical house. and you get to see many houses and buildings in the map, but what makes you feel welcome is not the door or the lamp, it's the passion. it's the creative freedom, and the increasingly more vivid color palette
many of the fish creators have sadly overlooked the simplicity that summer beach creates immersive fish environment with. title could mislead expectations into a regular (boring) beach summer sight. some could even not expect fish at all. sand castles I can appreciate them and the drink is a nice touch too but the true magic lies on broad exploration of underwater landscapes. get lost between bubbles and plants, find treasure and sunken ships. you get from the fish what you're willing to give to them.
future generations of fish enthusiasts should look up to this masterful work
