this level wants to be a lot of things it's not. for instance, it makes you think it's open-world, but barely is and halfway through just strips that out entirely; it makes you think it's non-linear, but in the end it's as non-linear as super mario bros for the NES; it makes you think it has a story, but ends up being very poorly written at basically all times. the gameplay seems to think it has something too, but i don't think i've felt this malnourished of fun in my entire life - none of the gimmicks work and clearly were just put in because they sounded and looked cool over being interesting to play. in summary, this is just a really badly refined attempt to be a conventional game experience in a platformer level, failing miserably at that
definite improvement over HOW in terms of being cool in regards other than impressive feats but the feats themselves somehow feel lesser here because of how much more spu7nix focused on bruteforce, level string processing effects over clever editor tricks. in other words, none of what this level does is realistically usable outside of this level, and that's kind of a shame
i like this level's theme a lot
this is probably a perfection of everything a level focused on flashing lights could be. starting out simple and easy and eventually turning it into a full aesthetic, even if unintentional just due to the collab's structure, makes this level incredibly special to me
i missed this type of level so bad
