Very very fun but very very learny. Was fun to piece together where to go.
The red cube maze at 46% annoyed me a bit but overall this level is pretty unbalanced so that if you pass it you'll probably get very far. I like levels balanced like that since I don't like dying everywhere.
I've never been a mega fan of old Funnygame so I don't really have a ton of memories of their levels, however I do have a fond memory of watching a piano cover of Infernoplex with this level in the background and since I was new to Geometry Dash I admired and gushed over it for a bit. It's not very original (obviously) but it's really good for a level mix. Almost feels as though Bryan took Funnygame's assets (in the form of parts) and used them in a new way to create a cohesive level. Unsure if it would be cooler if Bryan tried to use the assets more creatively since tinkering with the work of someone so beloved in the community is always a tough topic.
There is a demon on my shoulder demanding that I build 16 remakes of Kocmoc and I can’t get it to shut up therefore making this level memorable. I don’t even want to remake Kocmoc.
Honestly I like the opening cinematic more than the actual level. I just think the story of this level is really confusing and the level doesn't really stick to it as much as it could. Feels as though you could replace any of these parts and the story wouldn't really change much. All parts would probably be decent on their own though, and the level is pretty overall since Bli is good at polishing. It definitely leans towards overstimulating the player with lots of flashes and effects which I think is one of the things that made this level a little more confusing to follow.
Gameplay is alright. Expected it to play poorly based on how flowy and overstimulating it kind of is but I was able to sightread it in like 3 attempts.
My favorite sonic wave remake, I actually think this improves upon the original a lot and Lazer's style is mostly why. Love the masking effect in the wave, and the general electricity effects wherever they appear are really cool. Doesn't come off as "I'm gonna remake this level so that it looks objectively better" but instead comes off as "I'm gonna remake this level because I think that would be a fun and neat idea to see it in more people's styles". So yeah it isn't original but I like it better than all of the other sonic wave levels.
An early 2.1 mess but overall I found it really charming how different every part is from each-other. I really enjoy the balancing, since the first half is fairly consistent while not being hard enough for it to be that boring, and the second half offers a very interesting challenge that really makes you nervous. I found this to be a pretty thrilling experience when I played it, and it felt very satisfying to beat.
First few parts are pretty neat visually and gameplay wise, but it gets a little uninteresting 43% onwards. I know it was made in a very short time, but I wish that last 57% had the same effort that was put into the first 43%. It overall works well with the song though which brings it up.
Very fun to play. It seems weird at first but mostly everything gets consistent after you realize the 2nd ship is just holding on every orb that aren’t black orbs (mostly). The finale isn’t as bad as it seems either, as it just requires memorizing where to hold in like 2-3 places which I suppose makes the level more first half heavy but it’s alright I think the tiny bit of poor balancing benefits enjoyment here actually. Would say that the part from 43% - 57% is a bit weird to play and isn’t as consistent or satisfying as the rest of the level though.
Would recommend playing.
Mainly like this for its gameplay. Super satisfying level for its difficulty as long as you’re decent with ship. The ship isn’t even that bad though since it’s right at the beginning!!
Decoration is fine; not my favorite or least favorite renn level. Tastefully uses invisible blocks which is neat but still is somewhat similar to quite a few other levels Renn made at the time. All the pulsing objects help add energy to keep this level somehow quite lively despite its lack of movements.
