For being the hardest harder level in the game, Hazy Blood is an absolute banger. Just be warned - this level is very first half heavy so be prepared to spend upwards of 20 minutes on the predrop from 0% before even getting a chance at the drop.

This level can be split into three sections:

0-44%: The Predrop

This section is an absolute gauntlet of some of the tightest timings in any 1-7 star level. Almost every jump is triple spike difficulty and you have to do about 50 of these timings in a row without any break. In particular, the blue orbs from 15-17%, the blue orb at 28%, and the blue orbs at 38% are absolutely brutal and I died to them over and over again trying to go for this. This part is the first time a Geometry Dash level part has ever made my fingers bleed, which is fitting given the level name. As for deco, this part looks pretty solid, it fits the blood red theme with the classic 1.9 style perfectly

44-88%: The Drop

By far the most fun part of the level, and one of the greatest examples of mirror portal spam I have ever seen in any level period. First you have a straightfly mini ship part - it’s not as bad as it looks as an invisible platform allows you to easily get your initial height and then you straightfly from there. At 50% you have a UFO that’s easier than it looks with the right click pattern, but the mirror portal transition can throw you off. At 57% you have a mirror wave part that’s stressful but easy - most of my deaths to the drop in normal were here for some reason. At 62% you have a ball part with two tight timings. At 67% you have a Cycles-esque ship part that’s easier than it looks. At 73% you have a stressful mini ufo that’s easier than it looks, followed by an easy mini wave at 77% and an easy mini ball at 84%. The mini ball has a fake so be prepared. I’d recommend placing a start position at the beginning of this part and trying to do 44-100 at least a few times before attempting in normal.

88-100%: The Post-Drop

By far the most nerve wracking part, and unfortunately this part has been buffed since the original version. First you have a blind mini cube 2-spike jump - I died to this twice in normal - I’d recommend either finding an audio cue or a percent decimal cue that works for you so you don’t die to the blind jump. What follows is a gauntlet of 9 hard triple spike jumps in a row, something straight out of The Triple Trial by Michigun. What makes this deceptively hard is the flashing red lights. This ending may look easy, but I died to it nearly 10 times in normal, so do not underestimate it.

If you can get past all of that, congratulations! You have beaten the hardest 7 star level in GD. :)

It’s honestly a tragedy that RobTop underrated this at 7 stars, this could have been one of the most enjoyable hard demons in the game. However, being the hardest harder makes it a lot more recognizable so maybe it’s a blessing in disguise.

Compared to a lot of underrated harders, I really enjoyed this one and would recommend it to anyone. Just be prepared to die to the predrop a lot, it’s brutal.
