I made this level and i aint even gon lie this one is some fire
Im not the most experienced creator i've always been on and off but this level is definietly my best work, i was really able to pull off the dark gloomy atmosphere with a style i had absolutely no experience in.
The problem is that i felt that making the level a platformer would make the level feel more atmospheric, which it did just that, i couldn't have made this level in side scroller. The problem is im allergic to making resonable platformer gp, its basically just normal gd but you can just stop in place, i really cannot make platformer gameplay and the last thing i want to do is play random 5 moon platformers that is so boring i'd rather not figure out how to make the gameplay, maybe next time i'll throw some keys around and a room where lava goes up or some bs
But the biggest flaw is the ending, i just dont know how end a platformer level to be honest. I didnt want to end it with some big bossfight or some intense part, that would ruin the vibe. So it kind of just ends randomly and just kinda feels random, tbh i dont know how i can fix that problem maybe i gotta make some dark souls boss fight then end the level, maybe that'd feel like a good enough ending.
Overall its the most deco carried thing i've ever made the gp is so random, i dont think i'll make another platformer unless i want to do a sequel to this when im a more experiened creator. Overall 7, good for my standards
I made this level lol
Overall for my creating skill at the time i think i did well, the main problem is the repititon in the deco, it just drags the same style and same blocks for the entire level with 1 short transition and 1 gray part that still keeps up the same style, just with different colors. Not to mention the extremely repetitive structering, which i dont think would have been a big problem if the structing itself wasnt so basic and boring.
as for the gameplay, it was meant to a 6 star so it could get rated. But i fumbled the gameplay so hard its not even funny, the transitions are weird, the gameplay is inconsistent and not baby proofed enough, and you can skip a lot of orbs.
The things i did right, i did really well for my standards, but for what i did wrong, i did REALLY wrong. Overall about a 6, its ok for my standards, and i dont mind the repetitive nature of the deco but most people do, thats why i still consider it a blunder on my part
The problem this level has is the first part being this out of place design part that makes no sense for it existing, especially when you get a cutscene into one of the best parts ever made which also still in the predrop. It's almost like the first part is a predrop to a predrop. Other than that everything else is pretty solid.
22-29 is a really awkward section of the level, i didnt enjoy the double click into the part it felt clunky and annoying, and the rest of the part just feels awkward, its not terrible but it sticks out badly compared to the rest of the level.
Besides the first part and 22-29 the level is basically perfect, the gameplay is perfect the deco is amazing, it all works with the song. Really the only very small problem i have is the last wave at the very end of the level where you have to spam for half a second, it doesn't effect my rating much because it was mainly a me issue, but it was an annoying chokepoint.
Still overall a solid 9
it doesn't get any better than this, the gameplay is absolutly perfect, which is impressive because levels around this difficulty range are more prone to having bad gameplay/chokepoints. And the deco is non obstructing and clean which makes the gameplay more readable therefore more fun, i dont think levels need to have crazy effects and cherryteam lazars in every part to be perfect, it just looks pretty and doesn't interfere with gameplay what more could you want.
