This level feels like it tries to recreate the magic of early-mid 2.1 collabs using incoherency, but in my opinion it really misses the mark simply because it doesnt have the messy / nonexistant transitions from part to part, and overall just feels way too polished. Every transition here between deco parts feels way too clean in a way that makes the level feel weirdly coherent? And the camera controls certainly do not help with this either
i remember night party by rlol i think this song is awesome. it looks incoherent as fuck and has some annoying parts but i think its pretty cute to look at which is funny so its fine.
update i just beat the entirety of NMT like 2 days ago and it was definitely Interesting. the arcade slot machine zombie was pretty Funny. also celery stalker and thyme warp are cool plants. i dont remember the day but i had fun beating the level with the endangered sporeshrooms at the very front of the lawn. tried beating it without the punk zombies kicking the endangered plants and without plantfood for a challenge but eventually gave up when i realized it was just Impossible. Shame because it was actually so fun
Ostensibly an attempt to recreate the magic of incohesive early 2.1 megacollabs. While definitely not lacking in incohesion, and undeniably having some neat individual parts, this one really suffers a lot from overproduction, overbearing silliness, and especially its frankly excessive runtime, and the end result is an irony-poisoned, vaguely rainbow-colored blur that feels like an exaggerated parody of other levels by this general friend group, and largely fails to evoke anything other than my apathy.
definitely way too inconsistent and chaotic to be properly coherent Level but still a ton of great parts in here, at least a third of them which is a pretty good hit rate for something entering ultracollab territory. inherently really interesting historically for its stated purpose of ‘creating an early 2.2 level’, in the same vein of the infamous early 2.0, and now that we’re a year and a bit into 2.2 (imo this we’re probably still in early 2.2) i can more accurately judge it on that goal. and i’m not really sure, i don’t think i could guess that was a theme or a prompt to it, but it definitely stands out in some especially liberal uses of camera and shaders and new objects. what stands out the most is that everyone involved is having a total blast making it. even if it can blend together into sludge at times (as twister collabs sometimes can, and not strictly for being generic but the sheer variety and incoherency), it still stands out as a positively euphoric experience. which like, should prompt a higher rating but it’s like, a Lot. i definitely wouldn’t mind seeing more levels in this format though
Comparing this megacollab to "Night Party" by Rlol makes a clear comparision that Geometry Dash creators are losing charm, by a lot. Sure, Night Party got many of famous creators, but I think you could afford to get big creators that for this one too! Especially if it is this big of a project. Literally all parts in this level are unmemorable, it is just scrambled Night Party, every part feels so similar. Even if they are probably not, they do not have any uniqueness to be the same as Night Party does.
