Going into playing this, I had heard horror stories about how awkward, jank and poorly balanced this level was, and initially those stories rung true when I was initially practicing and learning the level - however, once I had worked out the kinks and figured everything out, what emerged was a decently solid level, with mostly decent deco and partially decent gameplay.
Most of this CALYPSO BLITZ's decoration is pretty inoffensive, other than the first part of the second drop, which I frankly find hideous. Other than that, the decoration is nicely themed and decently polished modern decoration. Not that much to comment on here, unfortunately. The endscreen is pretty clean though.
The gameplay however is where most people's grievances lie, and while the level can be a chore from 0, in the end it was pretty okay. The most offensive parts in particular were, yet again the first part of the second drop; the visuals blocking the gameplay for a decent part of the screen ended up making this part more annoying than fun. The biggest offender though was easily the volleyball part in the tail-end of the second drop, while learning the level, this part was a complete and utter nightmare, with the mechanics quite unclear, especially regarding the net's hitbox with the ball, which felt very inconsistent at times - thankfully though, I only needed 2 attempts at this part from 0 to finish it up, even though it took more practice than it probably should have.
Overall, I think CALYPSO BLITZ is a level that can definitely drive the average player away upon initial impressions, but ultimately was better than I expected - that, and probably should not have been included in the Water Gauntlet.
