Hi everyone :)

I'm back again with another question !

For you , what instantly disqualifies a level ?

By " instant disqualification " i mean something that instantly gives a 0/10 overall despite the level succeeding in other areas ( and thus not being a total failure )

For me , a 0/10 in gameplay is instant disqualification since i think gameplay should be levels n°1 priority

bad gameplay in general, more specific things include bad / blind transitions and bugs that show the level wasn’t playtested well enough. bugs especially piss me off more than anything, especially when they’re completely out of your control and happen whenever they want to happen

I wouldn’t say 0/10, but in general a long unskippable intro will automatically tank my estimation of a level.

long, unskippable cutscenes in a classic level (especially right before hard parts). not including endscreens

blind jumps or blind gameplay

visual obstruction through deco (Less in the Killbot sense more in the Metamorphosis sense)

if a level feels like it tries too hard to impress me its an instant turn off. levels that feel genuine are incredibly important to me. other than that p much everythings chill. i feel like im more accepting than most to what would be considered "bad" gameplay (blind jumps, transitions, poor readability, obscured elements, etc)

Ignoring Flap, megacollabs where every part is really short. You can have megacollabs with a few short parts and it can still be fine, but levels like Flamewall or even Vortex of Time are just fundamentally broken. The player doesn't get time to process or pay attention to what they're looking at, and the creators don't get the space to flesh out any ideas. That's why the best part of the latter is the endscreen, it actually has the time to do something instead of being a mere blip.

Flap gets to be the exception because idk man it's funny

id be willing to say megacollabs in general are a massive turn off. at least for me. solo lvls and small 2-4 person collabs between friends will always always always be consistently better than megacollabs. im not saying all megacollabs are shit .... but i am saying a megacollab should not crack the top 5 greatest, maybe even top 10 or 15
