Quality aside, this level made me realize how absolutely fucked the slope physics are.
Very weird, in a good way. I love the progression and the direction this level takes, as well as how quirky some of the gameplay is. I also like the characters it plays with, although I find the eyes trope to be overdone at this point (to be fair though, every level of this kind has it).
I guess my main issues with the level would be the more technical stuff. I think the visuals themselves are perfectly fine but improving on the camera work (maybe making Y-axis based parallax as well) could've helped the immersion a lot. Still, this is cool.
It's really good on paper but I'm unfortunately not a fan. I'm all in for experimental and noisy levels but to me they need to have some good composition which this level lacks in my opinion. I also really dislike the flashiness and would be much better if it was implemented in a more progressive way, since the song itself has it's less and more intense parts but the whole level felt equally chaotic to me, just at different speeds.
Bringing this back from another level I played: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1156339932630098150/1372214122426404954/image.png?ex=6825f57d&is=6824a3fd&hm=aa583731a3a1e5afb5705ad91a7d9b7dd4472974f747071d5b282f47bf44dc9e&=&format=webp&quality=lossless&width=1366&height=109
I really do get why people like this level but unfortunately it's just not my thing. I get that it's a memory level but this is the type of memory that I absolutely dislike, there are way too many movements and changes for how calm the song is and why some may find appeal in that I really can't. The level becomes so unpredictable and chaotic in a not good way. I enjoyed the more stable parts for this reason but even then they just don't look good to me.
I enjoy Fake A Might significantly more, maybe because the ideas there don't feel so forced and are presented in a more tasteful way. Maybe it's also because the level just looks better.
I agree with denis in that the first half is much weaker; I don't think the designs look too good and the structuring feels kind of rectangular for my liking. I think they could've used the slopes to their advantage by connecting blocks to each other in more interesting fashion. The ship part that follows does do this around the edges which I wish was utilized in the cube part as well. I also don't think the colors are the best here, for this kind of progression I'd imagine the first part to feel more quiet and a grayer color palette could work better for that. I think the second part does well at that.
I do like the level more as it goes on though. Especially love how the nature and city elements are integrated into the gameplay.
