Probably a lot of you were just as confused, shocked, probably excited (but it depends on if you played it when it released) when this level placed in the results. I know for sure as hell I was. It being placed above Aperture and Final Orbit was pretty questionable though. But honestly, I could care less. The fact that this level placed AT ALL is insane, and I am all in for it.
It's clear that this level's gameplay is the main vocal point. While a lot of the entries have been pretty good with it, this one is one that I think excels at gameplay the most. It's pretty basic sync gameplay, but it's sync gameplay that works pretty well as a 9 star. I figured people (especially newcomers who are looking into playing levels) will indeed have fun with this one. I also don't think people have a good idea how huge this level being rated mythic is. It is visual proof that gameplay focused Mythic levels can indeed exist if you put in the actual consideration for both the gameplay and visuals. It's not as impossible as everyone seems to think, it's just incredibly hard to grasp it. (especially considering the standards (and to an extent, ignorance) RobTop has)
I couldn't be more than happy to see this level place and playable in the gauntlet, considering how underrated it is. Maybe not Top 5 imo, it's definitely more Top 10 material than Top 5. Alas, the results are beyond even my own control.
Another level that I consider to be "overrated but good." In the most simple way to put it, Nhelv has incredibly solid song representation and pretty solid gameplay. I can understand why people really like this level / people would put this as their favorite extreme.
I like the idea of gameplay being just straight up invisible throughout the entire level and all that you see is the visuals and your icons trying make your way to the gameplay. But I really don't like playing them myself, lol. I'm not the best man when it comes to remembering what to do and where to click and all that stuff, which is ironic cause Learny levels fit my skill set. That being said, I like this level. This definitely pictures you in a color-book setting and the pages turn as you progress in the level. And the gameplay is admittingly not as bad as I imagined it to be, as it utilizes audio cues to signal where you click.
I'm starting to understand why the doctors don't like apples.
On a real note though, this level is very good actually. Visuals are really nice, and it stays pretty consistent in quality. The gameplay is also solid too. Alas there are some parts where I think it could've been a bit better.
Overall though. A really fun level.
I really like Acid Rush II a lot. At the time, I thought this was one of the more cooler 2.1 levels out there. What makes me really like Acid Rush II a lot is its gameplay. Back then, I'm pretty sure it wasn't really that much special, but looking at it now, It's surprisingly still pretty fun to play. The decoration in this level continues to follow the Acid theme. I mean... it is a part of a trilogy after all, and for an Acid themed level, I think this one nailed the mark.
