I wasn't entirely sure if I was going to like the level due to the fact that I'm not really familiar with top-down shooter games. After playing though, I do have some thoughts. This level is hella trial and error heavy. Unless you have pretty good dodging skills in this kind of play style, chances are, you're spending at most 3 hours to beat it. But after coming up with an idea and figuring out the best approach when dodging the attacks, honestly, I enjoyed that trial and error process. Granted it took long for me to come up with that idea (which was literally grabbing a small but heavy enough object (in my case, an old DSi) and placing it on top of the right most key of my Sayodevice++ which was controlling up arrow), but after playing it enough and eventually beating the first area, I really did think this level was pretty fun.
I was actually looking forward to seeing the final product of this level back when it was still a WIP, and god damn, this level is crazy intense. It is incredibly high quality and the bossfights are super detailed. It plays pretty well too. I thought it would be a bit unbalanced due to how much is going on, but the chaos and intensity is complimented pretty well by the gameplay. Some say it may be demon, I think 9 stars would've fit the difficulty a bit better. Although it can be borderline high 8 low 9 though, so idk.
Trying to beat this level was painful, and it's the fact that it's mainly 1x speed mini cube. Meaning pretty hard as hell timings in double spikes and such, topped off with the fact that this is a 2 min+ level. Quite a bit nerve wrecking to play the gameplay because of it. Aside from that though, this level is interesting. It feels like a sketched out sinister place in which you are entering through. What lies ahead is a spiral tower that pops up every now and then, and your arrival is what awaits it. I wouldn't say it's bad (well considering that I don't mind this kind of gameplay, of course I wouldn't), but it's one that honestly does overstay it's welcome a bit. Would not recommend, even if you are close to beating the Castle Gauntlet, if you don't like the idea behind it. That said, this level is another interesting level that I have played so far.
