Honestly you don't need a tutorial for this, but if you're having trouble remembering how to fart... well this is the level for you.

Concept wise, definitely the most interesting level coming from AudieoVisual. You play it once, and then once you reach the end, you have to find a way to escape from one of the three ways hinted to you.

I really like the idea of a looping GD level, and the mode of exit is finding a secret path that'll take you out of the loop. While I do think Experiment did it better, it's thanks to this level that inspired the idea of it.

I'm a just copy paste the stuff that I said from my 12 Favorite Medium Demons video:

Formally was my favorite demon level overall before Well Rested took its place. The pure concept of a MetroidVania like level in GD. Multiple paths to take, outcomes so incredibly different from one another. And this was before we had the tools necessary to pull it off. This level... is incredibly unique. As I said, there are multiple paths to take, and the outcomes are so incredibly different from one another. Either you are playing a medium demon or an insane demon. The difficulty of the level varies depending on what path you are taking. I really think the gameplay excels in this level because of it. It's standard path is what makes it a Medium Demon though, and I don't blame you for going for this path first. The other paths are hard. Decoration into account, the parts are very different in terms of artstyle, but it compliments the atmosphere very well based on what area you are currently in. And... also my biases towards castle themed level. I've established them once before, I'll say it for the sake of this review, castle themed levels really suit my fancy, and this level very much solidifies it.

Now to conclude it off, CastleMania is quite the unique level. One that I really, really, REALLY like. And I think it is something that really can't be replicated again because of us now having the tools to do so.

I mean... the only good thing I can say about the level is how well optimized it is... that's pretty much it tbh.

As I said on Twitter, as more new levels get rated Mythic, Rage Quit unfortunately gets more and more worse as time progresses. Now, I don't think the level is bad, in fact, judging from my overall rating, it's below average. But compared to all the other Mythics? I'd argue this feels like the weakest one imo. Not just as a Mythic level, but a Bli level as well. I get that this was made for a CC where a thousand dollars was on the line, and all you had to do was make Stereo Madness more appealing, but a level is a level, and I am one to say that this is not good for Bli standards. Change of Scene and Absolute Garbage, I'd argue are better than this.

This level is definitely below average, but unfortunately is given the title for the worst mythic and the weakest Bli level for me.

One of the most visually appealing levels that I've seen with song representation that goes so hard. Even the gameplay, the rep is quite good. A lot of weird timings, but also has quite the sync. I honestly really wish this level got more attention, because for an Extreme Insane Demon, this is actually a pretty good start for you. It can act like a gateway for you tapping into some of the more harder side of the game. Seriously, please give this a try. This level desperately needs the attention.

Honestly my favorite Hard Demon in the game. I know there are plenty of people that generally don't like this level due to the fact that the gameplay is very gimmicky, and some parts don't really play that well. Honestly, I'll give you that. The moving platforms part definitely suffers quite a bit from this. You have to pay attention to where your icon is when you transition up and down, and the perspective is rather small. Past that though, I really like the orbitting planets, the climax part, and even the robot after the first cube.

Decoration, I mean come on. A combination of the pixel style, and the styles of both Manix and LazerBlitz. I really like where the both of them went with these styles.

While gimmicky, I still really do enjoy this level. Hard to learn at first, but very fun once you get it all down. I'm honestly still surprised that this level placed SECOND for Best Expert Classic in the GD 2024 Awards. I thought for sure that this level would get like... 5th at most. lmao. I guess that comes to show that even in today's standards, Manix and LazerBlitz still got it.

I've talked about this level quite the marginal amount of times, and this is one I considered to be my favorite Extreme Demon of all time. Firstly, the decoration. Quite simple in terms of the designs and visuals, and the effects are not overbearing. It represents the song incredibly well too. The gameplay, incredibly satisfying. The click pattern is easily recognizable, and it syncs well with the song too. I do think it's quite underrated for its difficulty. A lot of specific timings, and I don't think I need to mention the wave at the start. lol.

All in all though, it is an incredible level, and one in which I really did enjoy playing myself.

You can't go wrong with this level. It's a very classic level that for its time, definitely was influential.
