fun silly level that’s well made.
the flawless is not flawless, but it's not "flawfull" either, it's cool !
this is peak terrible gp. wave spam control is such a niche skillset that makes this level super unaccessible, and i love it for that. I also like the atmosphere and the artstyle here, it really contrasts with the gp at end which is like one of the worst gp ever conceived that was beaten. The title doesn't really makes any sense either, it has nothing to do with the level itself but it's there to steal any other levels reputation with the same name or almost. it's so weird, nothing works here but it makes for a very cool level
Well, this level is good for sure. However, I don't think it lives up as a sequel to Future Funk.
Future Funk is an iconic level for its time, not because of its quality but because of its vibes and other things (length, iconic ending,...). Future Funk II is for sure its sequel, it screams it at you that it is with many references to the original but that's the problem, it just feels like if Future Funk was made like 2 years later. Future Funk had a lot of inspiration in Clutterfunk and High Life, Future Funk II is heavily inspired by Future Funk, which wouldn't really be a bad thing, the problem is that it loses all of what made Future Funk an iconic experience and turned it into just a level. It definitely has cool ideas but I think most of the time, they are just there to fill a certain spot to not make the level a boring sequel that would straight up feel like a "modernized" remake. Also, I wanna talk about the song choice because I think it's also important to mention. It's not that I prefer Future Funk's song more than Future Funk II's, it's just that I think that Future Funk's song was the perfect choice for it, which is a mashup of bunch of city-pop tracks and more turned into future funk. Future Funk II's song just feel like your typical LemKuuja's song and nothing else. Don't get me wrong, I like the song but for a sequel of Future Funk, it just doesn't work thematically.
Yeah, I think that's what I think of this. Future Funk is a great level and Future Funk II is like Future Funk : DLC.
What I mean is that, Future Funk is like the level, and then Future Funk II is like additional content compiled into a level that doesn't really add anything to the original work and that doesn't really stand out as a level to be considered a true sequel.
It's cool for sure, but that's about it.
Super fun to play though, like the gameplay is kinda unbalanced but yeah I liked playing this
you know what, I appreciate the amount of creativity of the gp and visuals here. It doesn't really play the best but somehow, playing it wasn't bad whatsoever, in fact it was pretty fun! The visuals aren't impressive again but for its time, it was super cool to see swords and other stuff being built in such an obsolete editor. not bad
