this level sets the groundwork for what could've been a very unique experience, but some of the creative choices don't allow the blissful release of the second part to feel as organic. most of the decoration is merely a by-product of different styles that just don't go well together, with the final combination ending up feeling like an unflattering clash of modern and neodesign. this is by far the most frustrating part of this level, as it's desperately clinging to its format trying to convince you of its novelty, and yet being held back by a very manufactured and dated approach to visuals. in the grand scheme of things, the payoff still works, but a lot of the clunkiness both in the gameplay and visuals don't allow for a gratifying enough final punch.
