I mentioned in my Breakpoint review that that level, along with another one, sort of felt underwhelming given that their base concept was heavily ripped from bli's Rage Quit - and if it wasn't already made clear, Dead Device was the other level I meant. To my surprise, I feel like I've seen a ton more people dislike this level than they did Rage Quit, however given how similar both is, and because it really does feel like this level is straight up just a Deadlocked encounter of Rage Quit, I can absolutely understand. I have nothing further to add to my real thoughts on this that hasn't already been said in my Breakpoint review, aside from the fact that i found this one to at the very least feel more like a complete experience given its length. But, just in case you haven't seen it and don't care to read that too, I think that some things animation-wise were fine (and honestly were executed better than the ones seen in Rage Quit), however there could've been so much more done with this level because the creator had NO limitations at all - they weren't required to remake a main level, they didn't have to do any of what Rage Quit did. It could've been something entirely new, and I feel like both IMOXI and aPunch understanding that, yet taking this type of route anyways (granted, aPunch themselves didn't even like doing it and really only did so because it appealed to the judges) leaves me with a pretty sour taste from both levels.
Outside of the level's quality however, I feel like another reason I slowly get tired of levels like this is because of the exaggerative reactions it gets from both sides of the community - those who like it and those who don't. I think both aspects from the copious arguments that come from levels like these are really unnecessary and ultimately kinda fruitless. The level itself is too innocent and whatever to warrant such a strong, defensive reaction, no one really gains anything out of it, and it just further ignites the ongoing fire that the GD community has found itself under within the last couple years. But, it's whatever I guess. Pretty decent level on its own despite the unoriginal concept, I just wish that people would express their feelings towards levels in a more civil manner. There's no need to be super riled up about how much you either like or dislike it, we can be peaceful about these types of things.
