Thematically this level doesn’t have a whole lot going on for it, the series has always struck me as stagnant with not much rhyme or reason to its sequels, and while there is not a whole lot setting anathema apart I find myself intrigued by its heavy punk undertone. The quality between parts vary quite a bit, with some having a much more consistent look than others, but I can partly accept the loose designs for their chaotic and intense feel. Admittedly it took me a bit to grow a liking of this level, but in the end I believe to see a vision, and although it still follows all the tropes of megacollabs that irk my soul I can somewhere resonate with the project
The second part and ending are really strong, everything else is kind of too bland for my liking
Just another megacollab that happened to greatly suffer from its overwhelming amount of ambition, not really sure what’s supposed to separate it from levels like atmarbl despite having a reputation of being humorously overconfident with itself
Contends with death moon as funnygame’s best pre-2.0 work personally, it’s bizarre how well the song assists the immense complexity of this level despite being cant let go of all things. There’s so much grace to every little design, it’s highly addictive to observe everything going on
The sound effects and player covering effects are pretty disruptive but I don’t think it needs to be stated that the art is stunning, seniorsaturno is a natural when it comes to using pixel blocks
Terrifying level, the layers of bad gen z humour are very noticeable in this one
What makes jayuff so special as a creator is his ability to make stuff that’s both highly dynamic and humorous at large quantity, it’s a quality audieo aspires to have but continuously fails to match the energy of due to the overambitious nature of his work. Big feet is the prime example of this underlying issue, the comedy is not only delivered poorly but also isn’t very enticing to begin with, it’s overly innocuous and doesn’t speak much of any character. While this isn’t a problem in and of itself, the moment you start making crazy artistic moves like inviting wulzy over to speak some bars for the post credit scene, you are lifting the expectations quite a bit. Bad humour aside, the level has a lot of pacing issues with random shit thrown at you every second, there are a lot of interesting ideas that don’t have any room to breathe because of how desperately this level wants to be something more. This kind of redundancy can work if you’re cerufiffy or devin2003, but they work with heavily personalised material meant to function as a self portrait rather than trying to look stubbornly indecisive. I may sound harsh with my criticism but it really needs to be said that this level is terribly misguided, assuming it aims to rival the sassy personalities of this game’s history, I see a lot of potential that just hasn’t found its way yet
