Absolutely fantastic work with a extraordinary atmosphere, intuitive gameplay, and beautiful decoration, as soon as this came out the winner of the Jam Gauntlet CC was obvious, and for great reason
What is there that really needs to be said, Revolutionary, fun, beautiful, and to this day the best song representation in GD History
(The two people who gave this a 6/10 will be touched)
This is definitely my pick for the second best level in Geometry Dash, only beaten by White Space, and it’s insane how two levels with such stark contrast in every way are both so close in how phenomenal they are
I feel as if the most respectable aspect of this level and possibly the main reason why it’s so loved is it’s history, I don’t have to explain this level’s history as everyone seeing this review should know.
This might just be my favorite 1.9 level visually, it doesn’t do anything revolutionary like Revolution or Nine Circles but it’s genuinely so well structured and portrays it’s theme perfectly
For an old top one and a mid level extreme demon, This level is super fun
I don’t have much progress on this level besides a 200 Practice Attempt run and 28%, but I can confirm that this level is a blast to run through. The only part I find to be tacky and frustrating in terms of Gameplay is Michigun’s part, but this is a part where your skillset very much depends on how well you can do this part, which is why I’ll give it a pass
All in all, this level is revolutionary but even if you remove its rich history, you end up with a super well polished and fun extreme demon!
This is the best level in the entirety of Geometry Dash, and it’s pretty easy to see why
The ONLY issue with this level I could find is that the spider part and only the spider part was hard to see and play, otherwise the definition of perfection
Caraspace is one of the best 2.2 levels to date and my personal favorite classic one.
Caraspace is a remake of AudieoVisual’s first level ‘Turtle Smack.’ It was made back in 2018 and shows it’s age and Audieo’s very early skills at creating. It wasn’t good and there is a gradient effect in the level that is about a fourth of the objects in Caraspace. But first levels are almost never good and it’s always amazing seeing the vastly improved creator making a remake of their first ever level.
It is partially inspired by ‘STARGAZER’, another one of my favorite levels of all time, and you can see how the absolute best parts about that level were translated into this.
The gameplay is really fun, it is surprisingly complex, whilst looking quite simple & being pretty fast paced and flowy. It’s pretty hard to comment and accurately capture my opinions on gameplay, usually being able to only be described as good or bad, but Caraspace’s gameplay is a blast and I heavily recommend playing it.
Now the decoration is absolutely BREATHTAKING. There are so many tiny details which make this level so much more immersive that it otherwise would have been, including the spacedust in a lot of parts, the Sun and moon structures in the last part, and the shaders and particles adding so much more life than ot could have had in 2.1. This level has possibly the best colors in any Geometry Dash levels, The blacks and deep blues and purples contrasting the rainbow borders, structures, and background elements is Eye Candy. And the unique structuring make this level feel so much more unique with it’s more circular and detailed elements, like the constellations and faint glows.
Overall, this level is absolutely fantastic and AudieoVisual’s best work, and I highly doubt that throne will be knocked down, I so do very hope this ends up being one of the most fondly remembered and influential levels to date, but I guess we’ll just have to see and wait!
