This level pretty much embodies everything I dislike about the current creating meta. That doesn't mean it's the worst level ever made or anything, but it feels like a perfect example of gameplay being treated as an afterthought in favor of flashy visuals. You can't even really say this level has good "deco" because for half of the level the foreground designs are super minimalistic and there's just a blinding adobe after effects animation spinning around in the background. There was basically no enjoyment to be gained from actually playing the level itself, the base gameplay is boring and it's made so much worse by the camera triggers. It's kind of funny how this level won the NCS contest but feels a bit forgotten still. And the song sucks ass. To say something nice, I like the NCS homage bit
This level has been underrated for a long time I feel, the deco honestly still holds up in a weird way and the gameplay really isn't as bad as a lot of people seem to think. I genuinely think that a level's song is more important than the deco, although it's not a meaningful comparison because they are so intertwined. In my eyes, most of the best levels in the game are built with an extremely heavy focus on the song and theming everything else around it, beyond just having an appropriate tone and click sync, which KrmaL was probably the best at doing. The "deco," "gameplay," and "song" of this level are still not amazing in isolation, which makes it a great example of why that doesn't really matter and is a silly metric to judge levels by.
song: 3/10
deco: 6/10
gameplay: 4/10
overall: 9/10
When 2.2 came out so many new things became possible in the editor. It's crazy to me that so few levels were coming out that actually tried anything more than making dutch angles in Geometry Dash. You would think more people would jump at the chance to be the first one to do something totally unique. Anyway, this level has an insanely cool idea and the execution is amazing. I particularly like the orb ship puzzle because once I had figured out the gimmick I was able to optimize the fastest route to solve it immediately once you enter the puzzle, which was fun. The ending is great as well. My only real problems were that it was pretty boring to play from 0, and the puzzle with the red orbs was kind of stupid. Maybe that was just a skill issue though
