the level's gimmick is impressive enough on its own to manage to pull off and still be fun but on top of that every other part of the level directly compliments it, from the deco to the music. it ends up coming together incredibly well in the end
an incredibly impressive refinement of gmdmann's deco and gameplay style spanning an entire 5 minute runtime without ever stopping to take a break for even a second, sometimes maybe to its detriment. i love everything this level does visually and it's consistently just overall pretty, but it does struggle with any overarching themes or a better sense of cohesion across the level
this level both deviates from what made troll level so good and underdelivers on it at the same time. maybe a bit more better in deco, but also significantly less memorable than its prequel
rough around the edges and at times just plain bland, the charm and character still shines through at every moment and i respect it for that even if the theme itself isn't too appealing to me
i don't think i could possibly work around my biases here given ufo is my favorite gamemode. really gimmicky, fun little thing exploring just about everything you can think of with a ufo within a pretty short span. 2p, portal spam, avoidance, slopes and orbs - what else would you want from a ufo-only level?
grax's usage of 2.2 is definitely very rough around the edges, flashy and at times add nothing of value to the level. but i entirely understand what he's trying to do with them and trust him to figure it out a year or two further into the update, and what he manages anyway is plenty impressive to me
it sucks that people chalk this level up to just mindless impressionable slop because it's very clearly so much more than that if you take a minute to look past its faults
