While the level doesn't have too much going on (except for the color pulses of course), there's also not a lot I can complain about, which is a good thing.
If the flashing actually hurt my eyes, I would've found it much more obnoxious, but right now I think this level is neat.
Edit: I forgot to give this level a score, yeah its pretty good
Gosh, I wanted to LOVE this level. The idea of a 55 minute long level was extremely menacing to me when I first heard about it and actually playing it makes me feel like I'm travelling through this behemoth of a level. I can feel myself progressing from the start to the finis. That is cool.
I also (kind of) like the minimalistic style, both in the gameplay and visuals. Even though the parts don't have too much going on, they're still memorable. As for the gameplay, a lot of it is unfortunately super slow, boring cube gameplay or boring ship parts where you just avoid the blocks coming in your way, it's a shame, there's a lot more you could do to entertain the player for 55 minutes. There are times however, where the gameplay and structuring is good and fun to play through, like the weird part somewhere at 9%-15% where the song is kinda buzzing. Yeah that's neat. Although I think there are some more awkward parts of the level, especially that part a bit before the last 10% where there is this green orb chain. Dear lord this orb chain sucks, you cannot click them on a pattern, you have to click some earlier, some later and it just isn't fun. For being such a long level, the gameplay isn't as engaging as I wish it was, but that's whatever.
Here are my actual most important complaints:
So, when I was first playing the level, I was paying attention to the song and I was like "dang, this is the best song ever made". Not exactly, it took some time for me to get used to it, but when it clicked it really did click. I'm not gonna go into too much detail on why I love it, just listen to it, it is transcendent. However, I think the song is doing some INSANELY heavy lifting for the level, too heavy for my taste. I associate Eon more with its song rather than the level, which is a shame. I think if it did a better job at representing the song, it would stand much better on its own. Although there are some parts that represent the song's vibes really well. Shoutout to the ship part at 64%, it's one of the best parts for this reason.
Even though I said that I liked this level's minimalistic style, I think it being THIS minimalistic is a disadvantage. Sure, I get it, you didn't wanna use too much objects and group ID's, but... you really don't need to? Even something as simple as more pulses to represent the song would be good. Here's the thing, there are parts of the level where the individual part of the song is progressing, but the part of the level stays the same. I hope what I said wasn't too confusing, but take the mini cube from 80% to 82%. The song has this weird buzzing sound that changes pitch, and the background changes color when the pitch is changed, alright, cool. Then, a new instrument is added... and nothing happens. It's the same shit as before. Then, another instrument appears, and nothing happens once again. Having more stuff happen to better represent the song wouldn't take too much effort or objects. Some parts avoid this issue, but kinda lazily in a way. They start of monochrome, but once the song adds another element to itself, it becomes rainbow. It's sort of interesting, but still leaves me desiring more. Also, the level uses shaders as the background quite a lot, and it becomes really repetetive at some point. I get that it's there to save objects, but is that all you could really do? Not to mention it often times looks quite ugly.
Yeah, I wanted to LOVE this level, and I would love to see a better version of it. This is clearly not the best it could be, so I think that's it for this level, sadly.
There's an EXTREME clash between like twelve different syles, from realistic to abuse of warped gd texture objects (mainly mana orbs), it is so overdetailed and looking at it makes me uncomfortable in a way, like looking at an AI generated image would but maybe that's is just me.
I can't tell if the level uses a nong too, cuz the song is very energetic while the level feels like a stroll throught the oceans.
Very cool level
This level has a very open feel to it, you're not restricted much in terms of where you can go.
It has a very nice and chill atmosphere, which is also supported by the song. I like how minimalistic it is too.
Unfortunately this level has some downsides. This level's song representation is not great honestly. Even though it captures the vibes of the song, there's not much done to actually represent the sounds of the song, aside from the gradient in the background.
Also the robot part sucks in terms of gameplay. This level uses these staircases made out of tiny blocks, and for the cube parts it's very fun, because you can just hold and get past it nicely and smooth as butter. The robot parts however? You can't just hold, because you won't do a second jump, it makes climbing the staircase extremely awkward and yeaaaaah that's basically where ALL of the level's difficulty comes from.
But it's still good in the end.
Pretty cool in some parts, terrible in others
I cringed at the Ispy part
Other than that I just feel apathetic towards this
Other people have probably described my feelings on this level better than I ever could
Making ironic sigma tiktok edits is not as funny as you might think
also why did you add the bluemoji.io here. He's MINE don't pull him into ts
Also doesnt the team name translate to PoopTeam or is my mind failing me
The fact this level uses the pride flag colors so strictly makes for some, frankly, very ugly color combos.
It's fine besides that
Also I remember the wave part being physically impossible to get past through at some point but I guess it's fixed now
