I used to not really get it but after rewatching it many times and seeing all the little details I've come to like this. Audieo's part is a little weird at first since stylistically he creates very differently from Cometface and Serponge, but I've come to really enjoy the black hole part and the parts after. Love that the song for this was made for the level by at least one of the creators, since I feel like this allowed the team the freedom to expand upon how the level fits with the song. Once Echo Delta starts going, it only gets more and more intense. The entire level feels bold and intimidating, representing the fear of the unknown. The predrop helps this theme with its world-building, as you explore cosmic planets and designs that are fairly irregular to what is normally seen in most levels. I'm surprised many other gauntlet entries didn't really explore the idea of alien planets or alien technology, as I feel that the exploration through the unknown is a massive factor that inspires how space is represented in most media. I really love the progression even despite how different Audieo's part sometimes looks.
Surprisingly decent to play. Decoration and gameplay style seek to make the level intimidating and weird to match the song and I think it's executed quite well. Wave is very iconic, I remember making wave challenges based off of it for fun many years ago. Not the best KrmaL level but usually underappreciated.
Omega unoriginal but whatever. Cool that you were able to replicate the effects of Rage Quit, but honestly it loses sight of what it wants to be faster than Rage Quit which is interesting. I normally dislike interpreting creator contests as just being about the money but if this was made for a Waboo contest I find it a little weird how similar its trying to be to Rage Quit. It feels like this was mainly created to win and get money which is a shame since I normally love seeing how people interpret prompts differently.
If it wasn’t a Digital Descent remake I think this could be really neat, giving off old megacollab vibes with how inconsistent in quality it is. I think this level knows that though and doubled down on being a remake for the funny. Its confidence is admirable. I like Digital Descent’s decoration quite a bit so this level is a bit strange to me but I can see it being cool to other people.
I feel like more people should remake popular levels like this for fun, incorporating their own styles and elements into it, but I think Digital Descent might just be a little too popular in this case.
More story driven than gameplay driven but I like it. Generally I prefer the platformers that just drop you in with no explanation of events and leave the world up to your interpretation like Hollow Knight and ANIMAL WELL, but this is cute and fun too (also it is very unfair to compare levels made in Geometry Dash to games that took years to make but I felt like those were the easiest examples I could think of to explain what I'm looking for in terms of exploration). Very nice world building, since it does actually feel like you're on a journey as you progress. The way the character slowly decays is neat and adds a sense of urgency and purpose to the journey. This could probably be its own game if it wasn't as short as it was honestly. I liked exploring the city a lot, as while the level is still pretty linear it felt like there were a bunch of places I could go around and see. The artwork is overall pretty and immersive, with enough areas to feel complete. Overall may actually be pretty memorable because of the writing and the visual quality, but I don't think its really innovative enough with the gameplay to really be memorable for that. Fine for what it was going for though.
