The reliance on auditory cues kinda reminds me of Rhythm Doctor's gameplay style. You see the pattern, you learn the pattern, and then you have to remember the pattern. The balance between traditional gameplay and pure rhythm gameplay is spot-on, and once you've learned the level, you can challenge yourself to Ultimate Memory Mode to really test your mastery. I haven't really tried Hidden File mode yet, but it seems to mainly be an optional challenge that's not tied to in-game rewards in any way.
Future Funk, but with a retro aesthetic. You can very clearly see how all the different parts were influenced by the original, which does bring it down a tiny bit, but just about everything is used in an entirely different context — the fragmented blocks from the ending of FF, for example, were originally used to make a space-themed part, but the same block design is used here in an urban setting against an orange sunset. Couple that with some fun (albeit ever so slightly janky in a couple places) gameplay, and you get an awesome level that won't be forgotten anytime soon.
I found out about this level a long time ago from one of EVW's videos, and it has since become one of my favorite levels in the game. It's probably in large part because I've known it for a long time, but I do think it's a really good level. There's a wide variety of gameplay, and the theming is very well-done, with some pretty cool backgrounds to complement the art. Overall, I love this level. Also, the Sylveon part has some really fun spider gameplay
Beat this as my first hard demon a couple years ago. I was lucky enough to fluke it from 90%, which may influence my opinion on this level. Regardless, you can't deny that this level is a masterpiece. The idea of combining Clutterfunk (funk) and High Life (future) into one level entirely different from both (and with its own space-y stuff at the end!) worked out really well, and definitely helped boost Jonathan's creating career.
I played this level more for the song than anything else, but this level is outstanding. Its gameplay is pretty fun (despite having a couple of minor choke points) and the wide variety of styles complements the song perfectly.
Absolutely deserving of its title as the most popular level of all time.
Serponge really pulled out all the stops with this one. Super cool ideas executed very well, especially for 2.0.
Probably some of the best deco in any 2.0 level ever. I'd even say the outstanding effects make up for the minor flaws in the gameplay. If this were released in 2.1, I bet it would have been epic rated.
Extremely learny, but super fun once you learn it. It also feels like the perfect length, and the bossfight at the end is the perfect climax to the whole thing.
