This level represents everything I love about this game.
The level starts very calmly, with a few spike jumps and the colored stereo madness slopes that push you up. A shining star starts appearing in the top right, it feels like some kind of destination you want to get to that is very far away, out of reach even. You try to get there slowly, no need to rush. At 7%, you encounter these beautiful blocks and spikes made up of invisible objects and rainbow tiles. This might be the best block design I've ever seen. I've always been a big fan of both invisible blocks and rainbow tiles, it always makes me happy when I see them. Previous to this, my favorite block design that used them was the one on geometrical dominator's second robot part, but this is so much better. The blurring effect works incredibly well here, I've never really liked the 2.2 effects that much but this is something else. Later on, small flowers start appearing on the ground, and then flower trees, which are small details but I appreciate them a lot, I just really like the 2.0 deco elements in general. The progression of this level is beyond incredible, it's better than anything I've ever seen before in a gd level.
What I love the most about this part, and the level in general, is that you can always tell what the level is made of. A lot of levels seem like they try to hide the elements used to create them by making something that doesn't look at all like any object you can place in the editor. However, if you've ever opened the editor, you will know which objects were used to make everything in this level. In spite of this, this level still manages to create incredible visuals, which shows how beautiful simplicity can be. This is to me the greatest thing a piece of art can do, to show the conditions in which it was created, to be genuine to itself and to it's own creation, and achieve beauty only with it's simplicity. This is why I love this game, it's just a simple game of a cube that jumps, there's more gamemodes sure, but all of them are relatively simple. There's only one input, if you hit anything you die and start over. There's no health system, no upgrade system, none of that stuff that people always put in their games. There's really no need for anything else, it's perfect just the way it is.
Moving on with the level, you can also notice that for that entire part, the shining star that was previously on the top right has been slowly moving towards you. At 42%, the shining star is right above you, you're there now, and what did you find? Well, the gameplay changes completely here. You now have to jump and fall through these blocks with a star on the center. This is a clear reference to dorabaebasic7, one of my favorite levels in the game, and I know it's also one of the creator's favorites. There's just nothing more genuine than showing your love towards other people's work in your work. This level in general is nothing more but pure love. It's a showcase of the love that they have for this game, and for the previous levels that have existed in this game, and what makes me connect so much with this level is our shared love with this level's creator for all of those little things, things that are probably meaningless to most people, but I appreciate them a lot.
The next part of the level, from 49% to 63%, is my favorite part of the song, I haven't talked about it before but I also absolutely love the song choice for this level. This part has an incredible song representation, I've never felt so happy clicking orbs in this game. I also really like the stars that appear around you when you go through a dash orb, stars are my favorite shape and it always makes me happy to see them. The next part from 63% to 84% is also fantastic. There's stars constantly falling in the background, the rainbow tiles are being used again, there's just nothing that I don't love here. Just when I thought the level couldn't possibly get better, at 84% the background changes to a radial rainbow effect with a rotating symbol in the center. I look at the symbols and I notice those are the symbols used for the pulsing objects, which are one of my favorite objects in the entire game. This is the best background I've ever seen in this game and it's not even close, i love it so much! The gameplay also changes a lot here, for the first time in the level it's no longer just cube gameplay. You go through all these different designs, all of them being simple and beautiful at the same time. Then, there's the ending, the level becomes simpler than ever before. The blocks from dorabaebasic7 show up again but with their original design, being squares instead of a cubes, but also with the pulsing objects changing to the four that were on the background right before. You see a house, the level ends. Level Complete.
This is my new favorite level in the game! <3
One of the most fun level I've played in a while. It perfectly captures the essence of the original, and improves on it. Very good remake!
I like this level a lot more since the first time I played it. I used to not like the minigame since it felt too out of place, but now I think it's insanely cool, and it's even one of my favorite parts of the level now!
Wow... This is definitely one of my favorite levels of all time. First of all, the gameplay is beyond incredible. There's a lot of variety, every part feels different to play, and they're all very fun by their own. I don't think I've ever enjoyed playing a level as much as this one. The deco is also insanely cool in this level, there's just so many little details that I love. The blocks that move with the song at the start, the transition at 53%, the lines that appear when you land on the platform at 65%, the eyes of the clubstep monster like creatures that come right after, the blocks on the wave part at 87%... Maybe they don't seem like much, but it's things like these that I love seeing in levels. Things that when I see them I think to myself "That looks so cool!", and this level is full of them. I love it so much! <3
Beautiful level all the way through. There isn't a single part in this level that I didn't like, both in gameplay and deco. My absolute favorite part is the one at 33%, the sky colors are genuinely amazing and it is made better because it comes just after a dark part. I really like the contrast it produces, despite the music not changing there. It feels as if the level shouldn't change, but it does anyways. It always made me smile when I got there while playing it.
The more I played it, the more I fell in love with it! The only slight complain I have about this level are the jump indicators in the last part, it makes it way too easy. I think it would be more fun if you had to learn where the moving blocks go. Other than that, this level is absolutely perfect!
I keep thinking about this level more than any other level in the game. It's in a lonely travel where one finds appreciation for themself.
Ok I have to admit that there's way too much going on in this level, specially at the end, but that's what makes this level special for me. There's so many levels where there's so much stuff that it's just not interesting anymore. However, this is not the case here. I appreciate a lot of the designs, specially the different creatures that appear through the level, they are so cool and very memorable. On top of this, the level is also very fun to play! Great level overall, it's definitely not better than in Silico, but it's still one of my favorites of all time.
