I helped with this level, but will try to leave any bias I have for the time being. The colors and design in the level don't really progress well, but I love the atmosphere, movement and shading this level has. Some ideas such as the monster devouring the player as an alternative to fade-to-black, and the snappy ship gameplay from 43-56%, are brilliantly executed. Otherwise, the level's wave gameplay and 56-100 really hold back what it could be as a level, as the nerfs stick out quite sorely imo. Sure, you're supposedly on the surface of a red giant star, but I feel like there's ways to make red and black stand out like in bloodlust or in death moon. Overall, 10/10 my name's in the endscreen of a top 1 demon.
The Devon and etzer really miss in this level for gameplay. Some part's decoration is really great (manix, nasgub, vlacc), while others are just mediocre or awful (etzer).
Honestly, I don't really care for this. I do like some experimentation done here, but a lot of things just don't work to me. That being said, fuck cancer; rest in peace.
As many nerf gun jokes as people make, TrusTa undoubtably changed how level verifications were dealt with for the better. The predrop still has the levels hardest parts by a good amount (sparing michigun), and the level's decoration is fairly consistent, but is lacking in some places. Luneth's part clearly has errors that remained unfixed for the entire verification process.
Shockingly good gameplay of this difficulty for something made before 2.1. The deco was made by danmaster himself rather than just being a cut and paste, so I don't want to drop my score to 0 because of this. It also created some funny timings on accident, like a ypos-align frame perfect.
Serponge and Funnygame remade a remake correctly, they actually added new things that made the level worth appreciating. One thing I disliked was the blatant theft of this from the person who agreed to verify and the decision to add free coins and make it easier than mefewe's original version.
Sickening delusion and obsession visualized. I can appreciate it for what it is, and love the progression, colors, and gameplay, but hate its MO with fury.
Roadkiller made many good decoration and design choices for the level, and made generally good gameplay, but the gameplay specifically at 40% is horrid and ruins an otherwise inoffensive level.
