Just wish it was a bit longer but it's very cool as it is. I always admired the pulsing work on this level, it feels like every sound is connected to each object and pulse and makes the level more immersive.
I wish some of it was translated into the gameplay as well. It would be so awesome if Thom's vocals were connected to the dual gameplay! They kick off just as it turns into a dual ship + ball and for a moment I thought they were connected to the ball while the ship was mimicking the instrumentation. Some gameplay later proved me wrong but if it had been that way it would've been such a good touch that would easily make me pump my rating up to a 9.
The best official level of its time I think
I'm still wondering how the heck was Jonathan able to pull that off.
Maybe overhated but I get the hate. I would give this a much higher score if the last part wasn't so awful both gameplay and visual wise. Why is half of the gameplay there just invisible hazards 😭
Despite a few parts having a bit of an identity crisis, this level looks pretty consistent to me. It very well knows what it's trying to be and it has some object usage that I really adore. My biggest criticism would be, I guess, on the technical side. I'm not referring to the block designs being too basic, but it's more about some of the more different obstacles in each part being too simple and amateurish for my liking. One example would be the colored saws during the UFO part in the middle, which I wish had more elaborate movements or at least varied a little from one another.
There isn't a lot else I can comment on other than some of the parts just being too unpolished for my liking. If they were more elaborate structurally like in the mini cube part after the UFO part I mentioned I think I would appreciate them a lot more, but as they are most of the level seems pretty random to me. Overall though this is a very good effort from an up and coming creator who I think would give the best from this style if they focused more on structuring and more technical quirks.
Nice job!
