My favorite insane demon in the game. Easily.

sparks cry of mercy is a solo 2.2 insane demon created by SGAgaru who has been creating for years throughout 2.1, before releasing their first 2.2 level, being this. I absolutely LOVE this level, so incredibly much. SGAgaru was able to perfectly fit their old 2.1 style into the 2.2 mold and create some of the most energetic, fun, and thrilling gameplay I've ever played!! It feels like a blast of adrenaline just watching and playing it, partly due to its absolutely INSANE song representation. The decoration goes for this techy theme, which heavily reminds me of Delta Interface (in a positive way) and utilizes some super cool looking backgrounds to give a sense of depth to each part! It just feels like you're flying through the middle of a melting down core, trying to escape as fast as you possibly can, and I LOVE it.

The level has so many little details which add to the atmosphere so much, and introduces some awesome parts which keep the level apart from other similar looking levels! My favorite part easily being the triple ship part at 55%, even if it isn't the most accurate looking ships in existence, the gimmick alone makes me so happy and it's sososososo fun to play!! I also love the detail of both the other ships dying at the end while you make it through! And RIGHT after you use these black orbs to smash through these platforms to the song before being sent into one of the most energetic duals I've ever played. This whole sequence still thrills me so much just by WATCHING it, and I've seen it so many times already LOL

Speaking of the dual, oh my god it it SO fun. It reminds me of old Knobbelboy duals in a way with how free it all feels? Like there's only one way to go but its reliance on orbs and differing gamemodes definitely reminds me of old Knobbelboy. It's just so energetic in the best way possible and is a blast to play through!! I remember getting here from 0 multiple times and I have never felt more adrenaline or hype in my body then when I broke through the platforms and got launched into this 4x speed dual, it's genuinely so good. There's just so many little details throughout this level that makes it feel like if 2.2 came out halfway through 2.1 rather than after like 7 years. Most notably, the predrop! I don't know what it is about it, the block design, the background, the weird gameplay, but it feels STRAIGHT out of 2.1. It feels like the exact kind of part you would see in an old megacollab back in like 2018, and uses mostly red surprisingly compared to the rest of the level being almost entirely orange. It's a strange part in hindsight, but I can't help but feel it fits incredibly well with the rest of the level still! The gameplay is super satisfying to pull off and the atmosphere of it with all the numbers floating around gives it a vibe I just don't see anyone else but SGAgaru replicating.

Now for my favorite part of the whole level probably, the SONG REPRESENTATION. I don't know how SGAGaru did it, but this level genuinely feels like it was made for the song. Every click, decoration piece, and trigger feels like it was made while working together with the song artist themself to make this level. I wish I could delve into more detail but I think I've said pretty much everything I want to on this regard. It just fits so well with the level, and makes it a rush to even watch the level!

sparks cry of mercy is an energetic, nostalgic, batshit insane level that brings the best of both 2.2 and 2.1 into one masterpiece of an unrated level!! I'm sure this might look like glazing to some people cause "ohhh my god you playtested it of COURSE you love the gameplay". ALL I DID WAS TELL THEM ABOUT BUGS AND SKIPPABLE ORBS, THAT'S IT, THEY MADE THE WHOLE REST OF THE LEVEL. I highly recommend playing this as I beat it and it was one of the most thrilling experiences I've had playing this game. And please Rob,.,.., can we rate it,.,, I bed </333 this guy needs his first creator point after this many years of creating...

I was first made aware of Somie as a creator when I reviewed their level the escape in my other rating request thread (which I LOVED). I had planned to check out more of their levels, but sadly never did. That was until about 2 months ago when the Unreal GD Levels account posted this level by them, I was curious so I watched it, and holy SHIT I was hooked. This level is exactly my level taste in every possible conceivable way, I don't know how to put into words how much I love this level.

THE STORM is what I think of when I think of a Geometry Dash level. It's a journey made by a creator with so many ideas it just fills your mind with joy when you watch it. Even if it's not technically the best level ever, it's so memorable and interesting that you can't help but love it when you watch it. It feels like a magic tab level in a way, many wouldn't consider it rateworthy due to some of the flaws within the level, "its so empty!!!" "this gameplay is weird!!!" (which i think are stupid criticims btw, if a creator made it like that then it was obviously intentional) everything within this level just exudes an aura I don't think anything else can replicate.

The level consists of two halves, before the bomb, and after the bomb. The first half has you speeding through many different areas as you try and evacuate from this mystery timer that counts down to what you can only assume to be your demise. Jumping across buildings and scaffolding through a city, trying whatever you can to evacuate as soon as possible. Eventually you enter a forest and fly your way through the trees in hopes of a faster escape, but the clock continues to tick down.

20 seconds.

You eventually escape the forest and run across a packed bridge, jumping and flinging yourself over moving cars and jumping across the boats on the river below, trying to find any possible way to escape this place faster. However, the time continues to tick down, and as you jump off the last boat, you realize what's about to happen.

10 seconds.

The timer ticks down dreadfully in the background as you think about your journey through the city, forest, and bridge before this, unsure of the future ahead. You then land in a field of some kind, with the sun shining bright, the grass as green as ever, not a single cloud in the sky. You're safe you assume, that is, until THE STORM hits.

You are immediately enveloped in this bright red background as everything that was once visible immediately turns pitch black and starts breaking down to the ground, frame by frame. Every place you went through, the forest, city, and bridge, you must watch as it all falls to the ground, and all you can do is jump across the broken debris to try and escape what's at hand. Jumping across falling buildings, collapsing trees, and even cars as they plummet into the river below. It's a horrifying sight honestly, but eventually, you make it out. The night sky is simple, the moon shining on the darkened debris as you make your way through the rubble. You've made it out alive you've seen, but you're forced to sit and look at the destruction that has been caused. By the end, you finally realized what has happened as you watch a bomb fly out of a plane and destroy the city below, your city.

THE STORM is possibly my favorite 2.2 level to ever release, and that's saying something. This level, while maybe not the best executed in some parts, has such cool ideas and extremely interesting theming that there's no way I COULDN'T love it. The second half with the red sky as the world turns black and falls is one of the coolest parts I have ever seen in a level. It's so masterfully done with the frame by frame animation and forcing you to jump across all of the debris as it falls. Everything is just done so perfectly in my eyes and I genuinely hope this will get rated in the future. Somie has shown their way to be one of my all time favorite creators, especially with their new collab level Adasha. Hopefully they can get a rate soon :)

How have I never seen this level before.

DREAMS TAKE OVER is beautiful, in every sense of the word. It feels like everything in wokecat's creating career had led up to the making of this level and WOW is it good. This level is a journey through the mind, starting out from reality as a dreamworld envelops you in its warm embrace. The beautiful city part at the beginning had me completely fooled for what this level was going to be like. I thought it was going to be similar to Metropolis in a way (maybe not the best comparison but it works). You journey through an extremely pretty city landscape under the clouds as you surf through these super glowy and pretty blocks. The level starts ramping up in intensity slightly as the world starts getting enveloped in light, the city has a huge beam in the background and light breaks through the clouds to visit you. As you make your way through, a bright flashy cloud reaches out from below you and surrounds you.

And before you know it, you let the DREAMS TAKE OVER.

I don't think I can put into words how much my jaw dropped when I saw this part for the first time. Everything about this part hit me like a truck, the burst of colors, the blur, all the moving objects, the shake, it all combines into this beautiful burst of energy as you're now surfing through your dreams. I don't think I can put into words how much I love this part, all I can say is I think it might be the most beautiful part in all of Geometry Dash.

The level continues on with a super colorful sync based part, where you travel across these colorful block structures as you pass radio antennas in the background. It's much simpler and feels like you've grounded yourself in reality once more, not as much as the beginning though. There's still a dream-esque feeling to this part, I'm not sure what causes it per se but I still feel it when I watch this part. It then hits you with a blinding white as you slowly transition back into the dream, flashy colors and glow all over the screen, flashes of white pass you and makes you feel like you're entering some sort of heaven. A black spiral eminates in the background as it circles the dreams all around you, constantly moving. If you look closely, you actually notice that it's the same part from before! It uses the same colorful blocks and a similar gameplay style as before, but now it's like the dreams took over this part as you surf through a mind clear of any negative thoughts so whatever. It's beautiful in a way, and I absolutely love it. It then ends with you hitting a fake spike wall as shards fly across the screen with the end screens slowly revealing itself from the bottom.

DREAMS TAKE OVER is an absolute masterpiece and shows what really can be done within this update. Every detail within this level feels perfectly placed and creates an adventure through a dream realm that envelops you at every possible opportunity. This really feels like wokecat's magnum opus and I am ABSOLUTELY here for it. I can't speak on the gameplay because it's sadly too difficult of a level for me, but the experience I got watching this I don't think will ever be challenged.

If I had to describe Softworld in one word, it would probably be "joy". Softworld feels like a modern day DORABAE level in a way, there's so much character within every part and it just makes me so incredibly happy to both watch and play. This level feels like childhood wonder, every part just venturing into a new bright landscape full of different colors and ideas. I've known ppllaayyeerr for quite a while and I was one of the main playtesters for this level as it was being built, and I am SO happy to see it finally released to the public.

Every part in Softworld has a completely new idea from the rest, it feels like a journey through a bunch of old memories if I had to put it in a certain way. Colorful blocks, these bouncy balls going across ramps and loop-de-loops, a grassy landscape with teleportals, CATS, GOING UNDERWATER, like it's the epitome of joy. The level fits the song extremely well and makes the level feel game-esque in a way. It's very hard to describe why I love this level so much without just repeating the same things over and over again LOL

Softworld is overall an extremely fun and happy level which shows how being creative is one of the best things you can do while making a level. I highly recommend playing this as well, super fun :)

I wish I could've said more about this but just please watch it !! You'll see what I mean I swear...

(Excuse me if this is not written well, it has been a while since I have reviewed something. I plan to review more soon !! :D)

SGameT is a creator I've mentioned many times before. An incredibly talented and underrated creator who I think should be much more popular due to their insanely good song representation and shader use. I first found them from their level Neural Pathways, a featured 6 star which was somehow their first rated level and notified many others of their existence. Neural Pathways is extremely well made and one of my favorite levels in the game, however I wouldn't say it's my favorite from SGameT themself. While Neural Pathways is a very well made level with mesmerizing visuals and simple yet intriguing gameplay, Acceptance is an absolute mess of a level. There's not a single second of this level that doesn't try to break through your screen with it's extremely bright and strange colors in combination with the shaders that warp themselves all over the screen. However, while the visuals are a very major part of the level and fit the song extremely well, what is very apparent when watching is the seemingly normal pieces of text throughout it. Even despite the level becoming a cluttered mess of warped objects, as the background flips on itself and the shaders attack your eyes, you can see messages to the player.

Acceptance is far from a normal level, it's a showcase of what happens to a creator that feels like they can't express themself. This is the breaking point of someone who has been told to conform to standards in order to get notice from others. Even though they've tried their hardest to express what they want in a level, something that they're proud of and want to show to the world, there will always be people that want to fit it to their standards. They never think about a creator's vision for their level. Stating "flaws" of the level that were intentional design, having a level called "not rateworthy" because it doesn't fit every single check in this imaginary checkbox people decide to follow. This might not be exactly what SGameT experienced to make this level, but it was my interpretation when watching.

Acceptance is as the name suggests, accepting that you don't have to follow any kind of standards when making levels. You don't have to follow every piece of advice someone gives you, you don't have to meet these "rateworthy" standards to make a level that people will enjoy. Creating should be about your visions and your visions alone. Nobody should conform to someone else's standards at the detriment of their own connection with the level. Acceptance shows this extremely well with the text throughout the level. "What does creating mean to you?" "Should it meet expectations of others?" in which the answer is provided shortly after.

"It's your vision, with your own standards."

"I can't even define it myself."

"But it's what I believe in."

"This is what creating should mean."

Creating is an outlet, it's a free world where anybody is allowed to make whatever the hell they want. Just because people have different standards to you, doesn't mean you should follow them as if it's a rulebook. Make what you want, make what your mind wants, make a journey only you could make, and even if others have issues with it, why the fuck should it matter? In a game as big as this, there's many other levels for them to enjoy. People will eventually find your levels and fall in love with them, and even if they never will understand what effort was put into it, the thought process behind certain details, why a certain block looks like that, why the gameplay was built like that, you will always know why.

Acceptance is both a masterpiece in atmosphere and intent in my eyes, an extremely broken level that feels like the clutter within someone's mind trying to break out. Nothing in the level feels standard, everything is out of place and is made to attack you.

And that's what makes this level's message hit so hard. For being a level made a month into 2.2, the shader usage in this level is absolutely phenomenal and makes an absolutely unforgettable experience. This level is one of my main inspirations for creating and showed me that sometimes you can just build for yourself.

Coming back from my indefinite Hyperbolus hiatus which I took for some reason to review one of my favorite levels to have come out in recent times.

World Render by AngelEffect is an 8 minute long impossible 2.0 styled fake megacollab made for the End for End CC in the ILL server. The contest had essentially only one rule, use a song and use it from front to back. No offsets allowed. Angel decided to take this to the extreme, and use an 8 MINUTE SONG, that being Red 13 by ParagonX9. This level is absolutely perfect in my eyes, I love it so incredibly much I don't think I can describe it. Angel made it over the span of 3 weeks, constantly streaming progress, and I think everyone is extremely happy with how it turned out.

I already said the gimmick but the main idea behind the level is that it's a fake extreme demon megacollab, essentially meaning that none of the people in the level are real. They are all parts made by AngelEffect under various names he made up. However, in true megacollab fashion, every part has a WILDLY different style that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what bullshit is going to show up next LOL. It could be a rhythm game part, it could be the ugliest part you've ever seen, it could be fucking TOXIN LAB BY XARO, it could be absolutely anything and it's why I love this level so much. This level is all over the place, and that's absolutely the point of this.

Keeping an 8 minute level interesting the entire way through is an incredible task, and Angel was able to PERFECT it. Being a 2.0 level, you can't just have every part look the same, or similar, every part is vastly different from the last and full of the STUPIDEST gameplay and timings you've ever seen in your life. Angel would literally build a part, think it was physically impossible, turns out it's possible by ONE FRAME, and keep it. That sounds exactly like something an old player would do LOLLL

I wasn't there for a couple of the streams because I would rather do literally anything else then be in YOUTUBE CHAT, but you can tell he had so much fun making and visualizing these batshit insane ideas into his levels, it's so creative and fun that I can't help from watching it OVER AND OVER AGAIN. There isn't much else I can say that I haven't already made abundantly clear so I'm going to rank every part in the level based on how much I enjoy it.

Holy SHIT what did I just beat.

LILITH057a is possibly one of the most insane levels I’ve ever seen and beaten in this game. Ever. This level is completely incomprehensible at times, where the entire screen is obscured in rainbow colored text. The gimmick of this level is that almost all the decoration in this entire level is just a font. That’s it. It’s just a font used as decoration, and I fucking LOVE IT.

The drop on this level is genuinely cathartic to me and I had so much fun beating this. It felt like a puzzle figuring out all the gameplay and it was just so insane that I loved every second of it. Unfortunately it was very laggy so I had to get the LDM, but surprisingly it didn’t retract from the feeling at all. This level is exactly what I imagine when I hear a FREE.99 song, just complete fucking chaos, but such organized chaos that you still know where to go. I don’t know what it is about this level that’s so appealing to me, but I love it so much.

There’s a couple people in the comments talking about the gameplay and how it’s essentially unplayable, but I had basically no issues with it. It just took a bit of time to learn where some of the orbs and structures were, and the rest was relatively simple! It took me about 40 attempts and I had so much fun on every single one of those attempts :D

I don’t think this could get rated though, solely because of how laggy full detail is and it feels a bit too insane for a rate. However, that doesn’t change that this is now up there in my favorite unrated levels of all time. I’ve been LOOKING for a level like this and I’m so excited to replay this over and over again.
