this level is mainly gameplay and song carried for me as i dont typically care for average 1.9 deco but it has its really cool moments (the mini wave and ufo). one thing i to this day dont understand is how people call this level buggy and rng. i keep seeing people saying the dual doesnt make any sense but its 100% consistent. you literally Just Click
also this song is really good i love skrillex and this level just uses it so well with its gameplay, i love this level so much
starting this by saying i have absolutely no idea how people think this is so hard, everyone says it's a horrible misrate but im deadass when i say it could've been 3 moons and i wouldn't have thought it was that bad (this level legit took me 2 attempts).
anyways, the level itself is very funny and definitely succeeded with what it was trying to do. i love troll levels (...say that again?) and this is a really fun new approach to that genre. i dont really have much else to say about this level besides that the like visuals are fine and the gameplay is fun but its definitely a funny factor carried level
probably the worst rated level in the game, not my worst experience in a level but it was terrible. bewilders me how you could make this gimmick, make gameplay this hard with it, and verify and upload it without caring about the bugs. one of my hot takes is that there are almost no "buggy" levels in the game, just ones that need extra practice, but this one truly is buggy. every time you click there's a chance it just completely voids it, the input is delayed by like a whole second, or you just ascend/descend twice as fast for no reason. maybe this level worked a couple updates ago but i honestly would believe it was always broken. absolutely terrible level with no redeeming qualities lol
however i think it should stay rated. we need some bad levels
i tend to like a lot of old levels due to some sort of funny factor, and they like wont end up being actually good, but this level is completely different.
i love this level, its insane to me it was made in 2.0. the designs are super clean and the colours are just soooooo good oh my gosh. and the gameplay is just actually good??? one of the best levels from 2.0 funny factor removed, and even though it has like a million downloads i still think its underrated and underappreciated. i highly recommend everyone to beat this as its just such a good easy demon, and honestly a pretty good level to get better at the game.
oh and the song is like super aura its so cool

not to say its not rate worthy, in fact i think its very rate worthy but robtop rating a level this hard is unheard of. I've known about this level since before it got verified and throughout time i just keep liking it more and more. the deco is very nice, especially when its the creator's first rate, but the thing i like most about this level is its gameplay. holy shit if you haven't watched a video of this yet, you actually have to. its the most fucked up insanity gameplay of all time and its sick as hell
i haven't actually played it myself but that's mainly due to it being super out of my skillset and skill range (i've done a practice run of delightful climb but that's so much easier to approach than THIS). but i've heard from the 2 people that have beaten it that it's actually fun, and i've seen people have fun doing runs. having a fun top 1 (not to say convolution is bad) is awesome and pretty rare, i mean look at amethyst lmao

one of the best levels of 2024, the absolute peak of song representation in this game tbh
the gameplay is also just sooooooooooooo good oh my goshhhhhhhhhhhhhh, the sync is so on point it makes this one of the best playing experiences of all time. and the fact that this is just like one of the best songs of all time only help this level. shoutout gabby start

i do not like this level, i can almost say nothing positive about this level at all besides maybe the gameplay is fine. the entire level conceptually is an abyss ripoff, and takes a great level and makes it pretty awful. katalysm is great at doing this, every non-touhou level of theirs is just a blatant ripoff of another level and it actually pisses me off. like make something original for once please
like i said earlier, the gameplay is fine. the checkpoints are incredibly unbalanced but that like never really matters in a level if you're not going in blind. the last 2 checkpoints are by far the hardest, with everything before it being actual medium demon difficulty. it has bullshit corner jumps and in-betweens, which make for chokepointy gameplay when they're all scattered out. also, i have no idea how this is extreme demon, at all. and how it isn't unanimously considered the easiest. it isn't even a needle skillset thing, there are needle insane pemons that are legit just way harder than this level. it took me less than 11 minutes to beat this level in normal mode and i didn't even practice that well.
deco wise, even if it wasnt an abyss ripoff, it still looks ugly as hell. the first part uses pixel blocks in a very not good way, and the ending cave looks so basic it's like it was made the first day of 2.2. the only kinda redeemable part deco wise is the under water temple thing, but it still looks like it was made over a year ago

i honestly used to kinda hate this level, but as time went on im lowkey starting to love it. seeing this released the 2nd day of 2.2 was cool as hell in retrospect, but the entire unrate situation was the beginning of how stupid robtop would be when it comes to platformers. i unfortunately do not remember this level with the old physics well enough, but i know thats how this level was built. with the new physics, most people would complain at how unbalanced this level is, and it was like always unbalanced but made a lot more sense in old physics. the first and last checkpoints are by far the hardest, as they are like the only parts that have multiple diagonals, but honestly this entire level is incredibly easy. im very hypocritical when i say this because i hate ego platformer players, but i genuinely cannot grasp how this is considered anything above hard demon. this level is so incredibly easy it makes me wonder how many people struggle with it.
anyways, the deco in this level honestly is really good. its also crazy how it was made 2 days into 2.2. i love the tilesets in each room and the colours arent the best but still easy to look at. kinda crazy to me how orelu made this and then went on to make chief needler, a level worse in like every aspect. i love that this level has become what it is in platformer history, because i just genuinely think its a good level lol
very unsure of what to think about this level, i appreciate what it does and its place in platformer history, but the level itself has always been kinda strange. i dont mind the deco and i do like how simple it is (even though it had to be), but the colours used for like the entire level are strange picks. the gameplay is fine, my entire skillset is needle so this level is very easy for me, but needle is easy to make bad so the fact that it's fine is pretty impressive (considering its 2000 fucking rooms long). it's very funny to me how this level is intended to be a kind of "tutorial" for hard platformers, but robtop fucking hates rating needle levels so the skill gained from this level is hard to apply. (most needle levels rob rates have some stupid ass gimmick, htp never teaches any gimmicks)
