I like to describe this level as if it was a baby dragon: Its intimidating asf but it dont do much other than some very random orb clicks.
The visuals are alright, decent shader usage, although i didnt like how goofy it made the icons look sometimes. Bad executions in regards to that, I guess. The particles are kind off decent. Character design is pretty cool. Very intimidating as I said before, which is something that I like about this level. Now the gameplay if we can call it that. I mean I dont see an issue with it by itself but rather than the level is made solely for the space gauntlet. I can expect people comparing this to Abducted, but at least Abducted makes you feel like youre playing the level meanwhile in this level the playability is almost unexistent.
Not a bad level by any means, I do like it. But maybe it was posted in a bad timing and for the wrong target audience, which made it crumble down.
This level is the better one out of the two top 1s that got verified yesterday, and the bar is extremely low because Thinking Space 2 is the other level. At least the click pattern is satisfying with this one, and the decoration is pretty polished. Although this level is definitely not my cup of tea, I can see this as one of the better top levels.
Look, okay? I will admit that I wasnt expecting a meal cooked by angels with the gameplay but holyyyyy fuck this plays WAY more attrociously that I was hoping for. Its evidently cool to see, but actually having to play it is a completely different chore. It's a clash between learny, click pattern and a bit of click sync based gameplay that I don't get nor want to get. Visually its pretty neat. It has some flashy elements and wickedly placed shaders all over the place, which actually manages to fit the song and Jane Remover's general vibe to some extent, especially with her latest album "Revengeseekerz", one of the more intense rage hyperpop albums ive heard as of now.
"Golden Hope" is a level made by Magpipe and more people as an april fool joke. Its an homage to the MLG era, with a lot of references to iconic memes plastered all around the place. It's such a breath of fresh air thematically as a sort of reminder how chaotic yet creative that era was.
I'm the biggest hater of this level's gameplay. Its such a shame it turned out as how it is because the base gameplay seems SUPER fun to play, but its so sacrificed by the chaotic nature of the level. Just beat the level about five minutes ago and maybe im writing this review out of spite but what a god awful experience. Some parts felt like a gamble to beat because you can't even SEE what you're doing.
On the visual aspect this level is awesome. Again the theme is a blast from the past and the arts are super polished meanwhile the effects go wild in the background. It creates a sense of balance between clean and messy that is very appealing to the eye. Maybe the first part doesnt fit with the rest of the level which, pretty disappointed at Mato (or Mag if he was the creative director) for making it kind of empty, a bad first look, but also fine as it is.
You can tell I'm very mixed on this level, mainly because of the gameplay.
