i remember this looking way better in previews what happened

this level frustrates me, because it feels like kapycta's first solid attempt to break out from being a conventional creator so much of his other levels would paint him to be and truly do his own thing, creating a level solidly focused around song representation. but what's the point of that if you're only willing to follow that in spirit?

the way it represents many of the song's and its own's themes comes off as basic and shallow at times; and while i still respect the great amount of effort and detail put into several bits of the level there's still an infinite amount of things about this level that bring it down to me that i've always felt were just due to a lack of care. the random backrooms part put in there for an unknown reason; invert gradients that heavily contrast with anything the level is trying to do; this level has the DNA of a song representation focused art level and aspires to be like something like CITYFADE but fails to deliver pretty hard on that

despite that, i'm decently willing to look past the complaints i have with the level. the end result is still pretty good, even if not what it could've been. i just wish a little bit more care could be put into the broader picture

this level solidified in my mind kapycta can be a really good creator if given the chance to fuck about and do whatever they like with no real commitment and this level is still possibly the best proof of this i have. it's very much carried by its energy and while i like it for that it doesn't have many other aspects to it to me unfortunately

i really disagree with the choices this level makes with interpreting the song. that's not to say those are invalid choices; but to me it's always felt odd that the logical conclusion of a level made to this song would be a list demon megacollab without any consistent theme besides the very surface-level observation that this song has something to do with eyes, maybe

it's really hard to explain why i like this level as much as i do but something about it to me sticks out a lot. i can see the vision and the vision is awesome as fuck
