really cool and a lot more fun than you'd expect
what skeletal shenanigans is going for, it does way better than any other level I've seen before. The bossfight section in particular does a great job of feeling appropriately tense thanks to the random/targeted attacks, without being too hard or needlessly learny. I have some minor gripes, but overall excellent work
absolute heater of a themed design level, really fun to learn and play. I like the way its difficulty is tuned, with the harder parts coming in short bursts that are sandwiched between easier parts in such a way that it all seamlessly flows together, and no part being completely free-- the intro is the easiest, but it at least requires that you're paying attention, so it functions well as a lead-in to the rest of the level. My only gameplay complaint is that the ship at 0:25 feels like too big of a choke point; possibly a skill issue on my part. Special praise for the short ship with trigger orbs at 1:02 which suits that 4 note melody perfectly, and for the entire part at 1:04. Visually, the background often feels kind of murky, and I think some parts would have benefited from using parallax to create space behind the playing area more
A unique gameplay experience on account of being genuinely difficult to focus your eyes on, which is really cool. The in-between parts being so flat and static are great as contrast and to make it reasonable to play the level for an extended sitting without straining your vision too much. Outside of this gimmick, the level has strong fundamentals, and the very good music sync helps to offset the difficulty of keeping track of your position on the screen. It falls off a little in the second drop, which is not as effective at being difficult to look at and (particularly in the last ship) feels like a slight break in aesthetic cohesion, though I like the use of red and the unstable curved lines on the floor and ceiling
Really fun to play, and one of the better anachronistic 1.9 levels ever made. There is a lot of care and personality put into this level's designs and effects, from the variety of blending tricks to fun details like the broken hearts at 1:49. The second drop is an obvious highlight. Not every design idea is a knock out of the park but as a whole the level has great aesthetic direction and succeeds at what it's doing
