Phenomenal visuals. The effects are some of the coolest I've seen in a while. The gameplay's super fun, too; while it was pretty learny and a couple parts still felt a little inconsistent, the clicksync was excellent, and that and the effects more than made up for it.
The one thing this level does best is simplicity. It uses a small handful of ideas and mixes them all together nicely. Especially given the limitations of 1.9, this is a very good level.
The other thing that stands out to me is how well-thought-out the UFO gameplay is. It can be easy to make UFO gameplay that has to be played a very specific way, but the UFO gameplay here is forgiving enough that you don't ever run into a position where you die whether you click again or not while also giving the player a path they have to follow. I've seen a lot of levels do UFO gameplay badly, but this one does it well.
The first large-scale minigame level in Geometry Dash, and it's not bad at all. It has a rather simplistic storyline, but the NPCs all being penguins helps it stand out more (and it's really cute). The controls are a little clunky, but it's kinda hard to find a better way to implement two-dimensional movement with only two inputs, so it kinda has to be that way, and it's certainly better than some of the stuff Serponge has done in previous levels. The pacing is pretty good as well; while there were a couple things here and there that felt a little harder than I expected, most of it felt like a pretty natural difficulty curve. Overall, while it did frustrate me a bit at times, I liked this level. My only complaint is that there are a number of visual bugs, like the player's position on the minimap drifting off randomly.
The first half has some nice theming. It's pretty simple, with a dark atmosphere, unintrusive block designs and the most notable decoration being the crosswalk symbols flashing at the bottom. The second half takes all that and shatters it, favoring instead bright reds, yellows and greens and generally messy designs. It even contains the Deadlocked bossfight in one part. Overall, I'd say it's a great experience. Just make sure to practice it first. Especially the ending. You'll need it.
Cool level. It definitely has a specific feeling it wants to convey, and I think it does it quite nicely. I like the occasional references to various pieces of internet lore; I probably didn't understand all of them, but the few I did get were cool.
Very cool level. Conveys a very dark atmosphere with hints towards something else. I don't know Morse code, so I couldn't decipher all the secret messages, but I do like the idea; it definitely adds a feeling of mystery. The only complaint I have with the gameplay is that it isn't exactly obvious what the wave part is about, but once you figure that out, all the gameplay definitely adds to the atmosphere.
Extremely fun gameplay. Some of the most fun I've played in a while, really. Admittedly, the first spider feels like a minor choke point, but it doesn't really detract from the enjoyability at all. The deco looks super cool, too.
This was my first platformer demon, and I had a lot of fun with it. The gameplay feels kinda like a Celeste level; obviously, it's not the same gameplay style at all, but the pacing feels similar. You work your way through the level one room at a time, building up your understanding and muscle memory until you get to the next room. The deco, while nothing too stunning, does a great job setting a relaxing atmosphere, which — despite the main gimmick being building up speed off of slopes — actually fits the level quite nicely. And best of all, it's completely playable on MacOS — nothing breaks when you die halfway through the level. Overall, I highly recommend this level.
The effects are pretty cool, but I think that where this level shines is the gameplay. Everything works really well with the song, and while I do think a harder level would fit the song better, this is good enough for the difficulty it was made to be.
