The gameplay definitely carries here, it’s insanely fun despite its simplicity and complements the visuals nicely. Said visuals feel a bit incoherent in quality but don’t make the level worse in any way. I particularly liked the bossfight at the end

I could see why someone wouldn’t like this but I still think out of all the events so far this has among the best gameplay. It feels a bit handholdy at times but I don’t think that should detract from the level’s quality. The decoration is very flashy too, which fits with the fast, high-energy gameplay but also feels a bit overdone. Not Rafer’s best but still extremely high quality with its animations and design. As usual, the coins provide lots of replay value and Rafer uses 2.2 features very creatively to improve the overall experience. No spoilers though.

The coins are incredibly well-done and compared to other Rafer levels they’re not memory heavy whatsoever and use creative gimmicks in each part. I recommend you learn and get them yourself. Getting all 3 in a single run isn’t very difficult and unlocks a secret ending. If you found the base gameplay to be too easy/boring, the coins also provide a good challenge.

I rate this a 10/10 level because it’s accessible and fun despite the handholding. I don’t really view this sort of gameplay as negative since newer/inexperienced players still have a chance to enjoy this type of gameplay.

Unironically a contender for the best High Life remake.
Zuds Life legitimately solves most of my major issues with High Life as well. For one, the balancing; High Life has an incredibly chokable ending (especially the wave). ZL is overall better balanced with the brunt of difficulty being in the beginning. The designs are also incredibly solid and unique while staying true to the original level at the same time. Also has incredibly fun and well-synced gameplay. Highly recommend as it's one of my favourite modern 1.9 levels

I already loved TTV1 but found it extremely linear and it felt like the level forced you to explore (hardcore mode). The balancing also wasn’t very good.

TTV2 (this) improves on most of those issues. The level’s hubworld ENCOURAGES exploration with the few different areas and the difficulty of gameplay is much more balanced. It definitely has issues with its linear nature but the shorter length lessens this issue. Balancing wise the main difficult parts were the Impossible Demon section (at least for the coin) and the second to last boss which I won’t name.

The level itself is a culmination of 16lord’s series as a whole, and as such has references and easter eggs to all of his other levels in the Towerverse series. All except the spinoffs (The Garden/Retro Tower) have their own dedicated parts, ending in a boss fight between the God of Darkness. Oh, and the combat system. There’s a few weapons with their own advantages/disadvantages. I recommend collecting all the coins in the first few parts then switching to the Katana because of the healing factor. The gameplay is pretty fun and the bosses are cool as well. One boss has a phase where you have to beat it in a time limit, which can be pretty damning because of its attack patterns (I had 5 seconds to go).

0/10 the propeller section was like 30 seconds instead of 5 hours

On a more serious note I’m happy to give this a 10/10 and recommend you go play it blind.

i definitely agree that quarion should try more to deviate from its source material but unlike what abso said its not really ripping off you have to win the game. most of the visual assets (if not all) are original even if theyre inspired from yhtwtg. gameplay and mechanic wise its very similar but visually i think its more appealing. very fun experience but i highly recommend playing on pc/laptop due to the controls.
