As of writing, Geass sits as the most disliked rated level, and probably the most disliked level in general. Much of this can be attributed to Rob’s failure to fix the difficulty of multiple 1★ levels, Geass included. What really helps Geass reach the bottom spot, though, is that it also happens to not be very good. The block at 40%, even with its indication, is still blind. The ship parts are awkward, and where to go in the ball part may not be immediately obvious to some. The win text at the end has honestly invaded my lexicon, though.
The Triple Trial is a very basic challenge, but I remember feeling like a boss when I completed this and I’ll always remember that :]
WOKE circles is your average joke copy… except it was legitimately verified, making it one of the hardest unrated levels; I find that hilarious. Unfortunately, there’s no NC effect to be found here, which makes it look dull. Great if you’re prone to epilepsy though :)
I never thought I would say this about a level, but in the radiator is… too engaging? As such, the level fails to get its point across even with the Pastebin. Remove the slopes, the pulses and glow sphere intersections, then extend it to 40 minutes, and maybe then we would have something here.
I’m not interested in discussing the Pastebin at length, but I agree that creator points harm creativity and wish they had less visibility in-game.
rateworthy awareness is an otherwise average level dragged down by a pretentious rant. The rate system IS flawed, but this level feels like it was narrated by 12-year-old me — as such, I find it difficult to take its message seriously.
Hard to look at; otherwise forgettable.
If Sonic Wave was L1 is your average “why is this rated?” level, except it’s below average because it slows down the wave parts, killing the energy Sonic Wave is known for.
Given its presence in a Waboo contest, it’s hard for me to view this as anything but a rehash of Rage Quit, which already had problems. The boss is annoying to learn for a 5★. The Deadlocked vs iSpy part also feels like an attempt to appeal to younger players, as if jingling keys in front of them wasn’t enough. The only credit I can give this level is that the main level screen and online levels list look accurate… do you know how funny that is? That the only thing I can credit a level for is doing a better job at tracing GD’s menus than other levels? And then it still managed to get the fake end wall and end screen very wrong :(
I think there’s a lot of unexplored potential here that isn’t being used.
